Thiers-Issard 7/8 Basic Black, the lower priced model with a plain blade and perfect for re-scale projects. The brush was a Simpsons 58 and the cream and AS were Dior Eau Sauvage.

Shave Test - La Veinette
It looks like this is another stone that has benefited from sitting on the shelf. I wrote Coticules off as a finishers pretty quickly. I didn’t think they were sharp enough. Perhaps I didn’t have the honing finesse to realise the top end potential of a stone with a larger range. Maybe my shave technique is better with more sliding strokes. Whatever it is, I got a pretty good shave off this Coti. It’s not the silkiest of stones under the blade but with oil, light pressure and smooth x-strokes it got there. CCS.
I’m now wondering about all of those other stones that I sold.

Ha, the steel is crazy hard alright. I ended up putting a Thuringian on my Söderén and it's perfect now.

I have another, likely newer Söderén that is normal. Well, more like a typical Heljestrand. I have one Helje and one Berg that are stupid hard but this one takes the cake, it's in an entirely different league.
Battle of the translucent Arks. Robeson 15A250 with vintage Norton 6 x 2 (HB6) finish versus Robeson 15A200 with Dan's 6 x 2 finish.
I preferred the 15A200 with the Dan's. The two razors are not identical and my choice could very well be influenced by the thicker grind of the 15A200. Bottom line is both edges were very good.

I missed using a straight razor very much. I'm glad I brought this razor on my work travel as a standby. Today, have more time, so able to enjoy the SR. This razor went through the full diamond pasted balsa progression and is definitely crispier...while remaining smooth & comfortable. 3 enjoyable passes for a bbs-ccs finish...
