What straight did you use today? Now with PICTURES

No real theme for this evening's shave:

TI 7/8 Basic Black
Semogue 1520 boar
Tabac
Myrsol Agua Balsamica

I really like this razor! Took me two times to get one with an even grind, and two times to finish the razor after the shave-ready edge began to tug. But what a razor! Sharp with a crisp feel to it, and does not feel heavy in your hand.

The 1520 is just beginning to break in. Will be fun to see how it feels once broken in. Small but holds a lot of lather.

Tabac is growing on me, both in terms of its base and its scent.

First time using Agua Balsamica. Light and soothing. I assume that the scent is based on Balsam resin. Different but good, and the wife likes it.

I have been posting some Tanifuji's recently. Well, here is the
cream of the crop for me. I do not own a Cape Kennedy '77
so I cannot offer an opinion on that blade but from my
Tanifuji holdings this Max-Fli 40/100 is "the queen." I gave
her the royal treatment with a M&F finest and a couple dozen
swirls from a (now) classic formula C&S No. 88 travel puck.
The shave was...majestic!

Nice! I have been looking for one of those.

Unusually, I was indecisive today. Rolled a die to choose either "France", "Wacker", or "Japan/Super Doll". Wacker won, but you have been forewarned about razors added to the queue. Otherwise I was fairly Italian:

The Wacker is so versatile, it left little for the Fatip slant to do. Proraso - I love it right up until the razor starts moving across my face. Then it is not quite what I want, so this tub is disappearing slowly.

Royal Treatment 2.0

I couldn’t resist giving the Tanifuji Max-fli 40/100 another go,
this time with a cream. For my “Queen” I decide to go royal
warrant with The Duke of Marlborough’s signature scent for a
light summer touch applied with Victorian Heritage brush,
perfect for bowl lathering. Feeling rather Churchill this morning…
