What shaving soaps are better than Mitchell's Wool Fat?

What shaving soaps are better than Mitchell's Wool Fat?

I'm not talking about fragrance. I'm talking about cushion and the ability to shave 5 days straight without any irritation. What's your opinion?

Personally I like Tabac and the stick or Irisch Moos. Both soaps produced by the same company and have never failed me!

There are many soaps I can use 5 days straight with no irritation. MWF is great, but I have a few that I like better.

Calani soaps are really good quality. Mystic water and MJ's soaps are great products as well. I personally think that certain artisan soaps are top notch.

Tabac, Speik stick, Wilkinson Stick, IMoos, Dr Harris

First four are all Stearate based, Last uses petroleum. Both make the lather thicker than it would be otherwise. Tabac tends to dry out a bit if you're a slow shaver. Solution is to load a bit more than you think you need and make it a little wet at the start. It's still the best commercial puck I've used. Dr Harris is on par with it, but the fact that it's basically just a mediocre soap loaded up with Vaseline makes it lose points in my book.

I hate to use the word "better" but a few soaps that work extremely well for me are Haslinger, Dr. Selby and Calani. There are a bunch of very good soaps out there, MWF is one of them.

MWF is one of the better all round soaps (at least for me it is). Decent scent. Nice performance.

Everyone is going to have a personal preference so you are going to get TONS of suggestions

I have both MWF and VITOS Extra Super Coconut soaps. Sadly, I must have a sensitivity to tallow soaps ?
Love them both, but can not use either on a daily basis :(

It has been a couple years since i used MWF but I had used it for at least 4 years on and off and always felt it could be my sole lathering agent.... Of course, I've felt the same with Tabac, Trumper Rose, Arko, Valobra, Knize Ten as well. Might revisit MWF in 2013 as I have plenty of other product to run through first.

I would put Tabac, D R Harris, Santa Maria Novella, Czech & Speake, Valobra, Palmolive and a few others into the same class as MWF. They all provide great shaving in my opinion and some of the others may just be a little easier to use than MWF.

I recently revisited MWF after a few years. I have to shave six days a week , sometimes twice a day.

I have been surprised at how much better some of my other soaps are when lathered like Mantic's MWF video.

AOS. It's a great soap already, but if you lather AOS in the style of MWF (brief puck soak, drier brush, face lather) you'll be amazed. I forgot how good this one was.

I rotate MWF, Tabac, Arko and Euro Palmolive. I'm not sure anything adds to that rotation - but I'm going to try some Cella and Mystic Water pretty soon; I'm assuming the 1 kg Cella soap is different than the 150g. container?
