1) Disco shavette push type + Gillette permasharp (5).

2) Pearl L-55 Closed Comb + Gillette Wilkinson Sword (6)

Biotique Bio Palmyra Shave gel.
Local horse hair brush.
Nature's Tattva witch hazel.
Biotique Bio Wild Grass aftershave.

The Gillette permasharp was dull, didn't give the usual clean shave.
Had to take out the Pearl razor to complete the shave.

Mar 6: Vetiver Vendredi on Feather Friday

Lather:
Cyril R. Salter Luxury Cream - French Vetiver
Brush: Semogue Barbear Classico Mistura (22/50mm)
Razor: Feather Artist Club SS 6/8
Blade: Feather Artist Club Professional [18]
Balm: Proraso White Crema Liquida Dopobarba

Another great shave in the books. It felt great to use a straight again after 6 days straight with a DE. Loaded the exact amount of cream I needed, the brush felt great, and the shave was smooth. That's my definition of a great shave, and the Feather SS was a large part of that success.

Like you, I also used a Magic Razor clone today ...

Mar 9: Magic Monday

Lather:
RazoRock Puros
Brush: Semogue Barbear Classico Cerda (22/50mm)
Razor: Spilo Magic Razor 11/16 (clone)
Blade: Treet Platinum Super Stainless half blade [20]
Balm: Proraso White Crema Liquida Dopobarba

Broke out the Spilo Magic clone for today's shave, and even with a duller blade and 2-day stubble, it still gave me a better shave than the Universal I used on my last shave.

I split the a Treet blade with 38 shaves on it. Do I pro-rate it and call the blade having 19 shaves on it, since 38 shaves on two sides averages out to 19 shaves per side? Why not.

Old picture from a different shave below.

If that's the case, treat yourself to the original Spill Magic that's made in Italy for about $20 (not the Magic Razor made in Pakistan). The Italian Spilo has metal parts that are thicker and better made, and the handle feels solid and more substantial.

I hear the similar Focus R21 is also high quality, but can't vouch for it first hand.

Note: the last Spilo I bought (used) was at least 5 years old, and I'm just assuming the modern ones are still made the same.

Near perfect shave yesterday, one of those "wow" shaves, using my Feather SS loaded with a Proline blade somewhere in the middle of its useful life.

Fantastic lather with a beta soap from a forum member. Two passes, then a straight south to north along the jawline in the trouble areas.

DFS without any irritation or trouble whatsoever. Face felt amazing afterward.

Mar 13: X-Rated Vetiver Vendredi

Lather:
Stirling Port au Prince
Brush: PAA The Green Ray Hybrid Tribble (24/57mm)
Razor: King Metal X-Razor 6/8
Blade: Treet Platinum Super Stainless half blade [21]
Balm: Olay Complete Sensitive SPF15

Another nice shave with the X-Razor. I like the aesthetics of this razor - it looks like the Warrior Bugs from Starship Troopers

I think I've fallen out of favor with low exposure shavettes, and seem to prefer ones with lots of exposed blade so I can get in there very shallow.

Looks like these are not available in India.
Will try to source it, once the covid-19 situation sorts out.

To everyone out there, stay safe and take care [emoji120]

I, for the first time, gave this a go. Not bad if I do say so myself. I’ve never used a shavette or straight before and I enjoyed myself.
