What Oster Classic 76 Blades Do I Need For This Cut

I'm looking to buy the Oster Classic 76 clipper from Amazon to give my husband haircuts. As he is in the marines, he's always kept his hair very short and I was wondering if someone could tell me what additional blades I should buy and/or use to create the haircut shown in the attached image for him?

Thank you

I think you should be all right without any extra blades. Use the clipper with out any guards as they determine hair length and you should do just fine. BTW thank you and your husband for your service.

Looks like the Oster 76 comes with a #1 guard. I would use that for the top and then fade the rest in without using any guards. I do something similar but usually don't go that short.

you will need a 000 blade, shorter will require a 0000 blade, and close shave a 00000 blade. If you want the top a little longer and the sides a little shorter, you can cut the entire head with 000,then cut the sides with 0000 or 00000...the Andis 00000 blade is a little smoother on the scalp and will perfectly fit the classic 76....make sure to read up on blade maintenance, they need to be toothbrushed, sanitized and lubricated.All-in-one spray is good to sterilize, but poor for lubrication, use a high quality clipper oil after spraying "cool-lube" or other products...you must also learn to adjust the blade in the blade housing. If you "pinch" the skin ,you have the blade too high up to the guard teeth and you must EVENLY lower it to the point where it cuts smoothly ,but without pinching.I have had my Oster 76 30 years ,and have only replaced the chord and electical brushes...

Thank you everyone for your suggestions, I think I'll place my order through Amazon in the morning. I'll let you know how it goes.

I didn't think of the supply houses, I placed my order late last night. Along with the clipper, I bought the 10 universal comb set ( http://www.amazon.com/Oster-Profess...-Designed/dp/B001T0HHB0/ref=pd_bxgy_hpc_img_b )

Rather then starting with the #1 and #000 blades that come with the clipper, I figure I will start with the combs and work my way down.

I'm just wondering, these combs fit over the blades I assume. Does it make a difference whether I slide the comb over the #1 or the #000 blade?

Thank you

.............you won't notice any difference, the comb dictates the length, for longer hair the larger blades cut the hair easier and faster.Follow lube and cleaning directions and the 76 will last a long time, make sure motor is running WHILE you snap down the blade.
