What kind of shoes does one wear with a lounge shirt

As I understand the style, this is 1950s rockabilly stuff. So, pomps, DAs, Wayfarers or oter dark shades, black jeans, garrison belts, white socks, etc. So for shoes I would say, things like black penny loafers with dimes in the slots, high-top black Chucks, maybe black old-fashioned motorcycle boots or similar low-cut, black work boots maybe steel-toed, but not Doc Martin's, at least not in the States. As well as, for sure, spectators!

Not sandals. No shorts. Not barefoot.

Jimmy Buffet is more "camp" shirts and Hawaiian shirts, a similar style in some ways, but a different heritage, methinks.

That reminds me of Latin shirts. My father had a few of those in the 60's & 70's. He wore black toe shoes with them.

Guayabera shirts, I assume. As I understand it, a Guayabera shirt in many circumstances is a business dress shirt, so yes, business level black shoes, I would think. Yet another heritage! Clothes must always be put in a particular context I think.

The lounge shirt looks a lot like a bowling shirt to me. But yet another background!

More specifically, Charlie Harper. Find some syndicated reruns of Two and a Half Men and see what he's sporting.

Good points. Charlie Harper/Sheen clearly adapted these shirts for his style. Did the Charlie Harper style ever catch on in a general manner?

I really have no idea.
