What item(s) haunt your dreams?

I like finding old bottles that can be used to fancy up my shave den. I have a vintage Pinaud bottle, a "cold slap in the face" hand-shaped Skin Bracer bottle, and a couple old miscellaneous bottles that I've re-purposed for witch-hazel and such.

So a year or so ago we traveled to see some relatives and, upon stopping at a picker's antique barn, I found an old cork-stopper Lambert's Pharmacy Listerine bottle. It was beautiful, it was clean, it would be perfect on my shelf with the others. It was only $6 and I had the money in my pocket. But, dummy me, I hemmed and hawed and left without it thinking I could probably find another pretty easily whenever I wasn't so broke. Well it turns out that the one I saw was the larger variety that sells on the bay for 4 or 5 times what they were selling it for. It has since haunted my dreams.

What haunts your dreams? Is it something you saw and regret leaving behind? Something you're hoping to run into someday? Something you wish you could afford?

We'll be your B&B psychologists. Have a seat on the couch and tell us about it!

Feather make some nice DE razors but cost almost £200. Right now I'm considering an Artist Club SS Straight. Maybe in a couple of weeks. But it's soooo tempting to order now!

I had the titles to each one of those in my hand but all purchases required that I "trade" something of mine. In the end I could not bring myself to make the trade and kept what I had and let these go. What a DUFIS I was... gees

I want a blackhandle SS, and a red tip. These have strong family ties for me. I have begun to set aside $2.00 per week, and hope to find both for Christmas. Not glamorous, but meaningful to me. Outside of shaving, my dreams are flooded with owning a home... and an amc javelin..... :)

Found a Fatboy in an antique store for $15. It was under a thick layer of soap scum, so I wasn't sure of the condition and didn't buy it. :a52:

I found a VERY nice Gillette Ball-End Old Type in a thrift store in Alexandria, MN last summer when visiting from Georgia. One of the teeth was SLIGHTLY bent, but it just needed a nice cleaning (at least that's what my less-than-expert eye saw). It was $4. I should've snagged it (although I did get a Q3 1986 Super Speed there for $4).

EDIT: Also, a Merkur Vision 2000. I want one, but good luck finding one within the price range that the Mistress of Finance would agree to...

1) Rolls Razor in good condition;

2) Sailor 1911 fountain pen.

The latter is just a matter of setting aside the money.

I want a Gillette F4 Toggle in Rhodium, but would settle for gold or nickel. You can buy them for $200 every now and then on the low side, all the way up to $1K +. One day I'll find one when I have the extra $200 to spend on one....right now all I can do is dream.

1. The first thing ain't a thing, I'd like to go on a trip to Japan.

2. Brought Superior motorcycle, I dream of finding one of them in a barn.

This never happens, really.

We went back to the same relative's house a month or so ago and stopped at the same antique barn. I was absolutely certain it was gone but I thought I'd look anyway. Still there, still $6. Now on my bathroom shelf.

Now I just need an appropriate label to put on it.

“Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.
I am haunted by waters.”

Oh, I'd love to be able to afford to take my wife on a first class trip to Ireland. Of all the places in the world, Ireland is where she wants to go most. Of course she'd like to see Paris, Rome, Venice, Africa, China, etc, if she had to pick one place it's Ireland. She's adopted, so she knows nothing about her real family history, other than her real father is all or possibly part Irish. She's always had fair skin and had strawberry blond hair as a kid. I hope to be able to take her there before we get too old to travel. We have 20 or 30 years before that happens, but what I'd like to do for her is a $10K trip. One day.

I would love to know what you would have had to trade

I would love to know what you would have had to trade

All would have been: Cash plus a Maserati. Cash plus a Jag MK IX Saloon. Cash plus a P1800 ES and a Jag XK120 roadster.

I was just too fond of them at the time. I no longer have any of them but you can bet I would have kept at least one of the ones I let get away.
