Dutch for me. Looks the business and does the job nicely. I don’t do any precision work so there is that. I concede that a point would be useful if facial hair styling was required. As a beginner, I do not require the added level of difficulty.
Something between the Dutch and the French would be good. I guess one might call it a Belgian point. The bottom
Half rounded for comfort but the top part with a slant for aesthetic.
It's a French point for left-handed shavers.barber notches.....
what in the Sam Hill do you call this????? reverse french????? I looked at the end under a loupe and doesnt appear to be a broken tip/toe modified.

RoundedThere are five main SR point types and some of them can also have a barber notch. For the purpose of this thread, those who prefer a barber notch in their point should select the point type closest to the following:

All of the razors in my rotation are square points.
None of them have barber notches, but:
1. I like the look of barber notches
2. I don't recall ever seeing a barber notch on anything other
than a square point.

And there was me thinking the idea of shaving daily was to LOOK SMART.Come to think about it it's not too uncommon that I look at myself in the mirror after coming home from work to realise that I've spent my workday with dried lather on my ears.
Actually, every description of razor points that I've ever read
described the barber notch as being a distinct type
rather than as being an option on other types.
The vast majority of barber notches which I have seen
were on blades marked as having been made in Germany.
I have seen a few from Sweden and England
and also some from unspecified origins, but that's it.
None marked as being from Russia or France or Spain or USA.
I have a couple Torreys w/ barbers notch
