What's new

What is your favourite brush?

I may be going out on a limb here, but I love my Proraso professional brush ($13)

I am sure all the increadibly expensive super-duper silvertip brushes are great (too cheap to try one), but I have used mid-range badger brushes ($50 - $100) and have been just as happy with my Proraso.

No its likely not as luxurious as something that costs about the same as one month's rent or mortgage payment, but it does the job and does it well (in my view anyhow).

I'd be interested in others' experiences with the Proraso brush.

Finally, while Joel is doing a review of high-end brushes, it might be fun to do a review of "bargain" or "value" brushes, which might be especially helpful to those getting into wetshaving or who don't have the means or inclination to spend $385 on a Simpson's chubby in silvertip.

To avoid a possible flurry of nasty e-mails from devotees of high-end brushes, I want to be clear that I'm not knocking the high end brushes and acknowledge that even very expensive brushes are not expensive when one amortizes their cost over their useful life.

Shave in peace.
