What's new

What is your favorite set-up?

I know most of us here have several razors, brushes, soaps, and aftershaves, but if you had to pick your favorite set-up to use forever, (I know that would bore most of us) what would that be? Your one set-up that you always enjoy and can count on a great shave.
I'll start with mine:

Razor - ATT Windsor Pro SB-90 aluminum
Blade - Personna Lab
Soap - Nivea Shave Stick
Brush - Muhle STF 23 mm synthetic
After Shave - Nivea Vanilla & Bourbon

I love this question because my answer has changed a LOT over the years....

Lately however, my "desert island" setup is pretty much an all-Italian affair:

Fatip Piccolo
ASCO or Personna Lab Blue (it doesn't really matter)
Proraso Red
Omega 632 Silvertip

I have tried…well too much to be honest😂 Artisan, ”heritage products”, old, new and so on. Had razors that I was sure were THE ones but honestly these products give me pure satisfaction and an awesome shave.

Gillette Foamy (before the scent-change but I have about 40 cans so i’m set)

Gillette Super Speed made in England

Derby Greens (Yep, those)

D.R. Harris Pink aftershave

D.R. Harris Original aftershave milk

Love the scent of Foamy, it can take water, skin feels great and so on. The cheapest cream/soap propably has better performance…but I don’t care. Works great for me.

My favorite, drama-free, no-brainer set up is:

Leaf Twig razor with a feather blade (though many others will do). First pass uses Cremo applied either by hand or with my well broken-in Omega/Proraso boar brush. The second pass will use the residual Cremo but with some added Stephan Conditioning cream for great post-shave feel. After-shave is seasonal and varied. If you make me pick one it would be Clubman Pinaud.

My favorite, and only, razor is an Above the Tie Windsor. My favorite plate is the mild copper plate.
My favorite, and only, blades are Personna Lab Blue.
My favorite, and only, brush is the small Kent badger, the BK4 with white handle and the BKB4 with black handle. I alternate.
My favorite, and only, soap is Martin de Candre. Last year was Fougere, and this year it is Vetyver.
I do not have a favorite aftershave. I almost always splash on 4711, but for diversion I enjoy Guerlain Vetiver and Habit Rouge, Dior Eau Sauvage, Acqua di Selva, and St. John's Lime.

EJ3One6, great daily shaver, not mild not agresive, just perfect in the middle
Nacet, sharp for long time and smooth
Simpson T3, wonderfull brush
Proraso Blue, underrated shaving cream, no scent, slick and light lather, afordable also
Nivea 2in1 or Nivea Deep (Love them both, cna't decide)
