What is the difference in shaving experience between the Lupo and Game Changer series?

One of the main differences is blade feel - the Lupo has more. I am not a fan of blade feel, so I prefer the Game Changers. Others prefer the opposite.

Agreed, and I'd add the SS Lupo has the indented corners on guard/cap which makes edging on a stache/goatee easier. Perhaps under the nostrils also, although the GC head is so thin I never have a problem. I find myself in the blade feel camp so naturally favor the Lupo.

I have both 68 and 84 and they are not my most loved razors. Lately however, I’ve had a great time with the 84 and a derby blade. Don’t ask me why but the blade transformed the razor into what I think it should be, smooth and effective.

I’ve recently acquired the lupo 95. I’m still blade testing it and I can already tell that it is not like the 84 regarding the derby blade. It felt draggy. It went much better with a sharper blade.

It is still soon for a definitive answer but I don’t see a HUGE difference between the 84 and the lupo 95. Yes the lupo has a little more blade on skin feel, but the GC is not Rockwell plate 2 either.

The shave results are similar, I don’t shave ATG with them.

This is all highly personal, so it’s difficult to describe exactly.

Yes, they are a little different, but like brothers rather than cousins.

Agreed. I loved the Game Changer .84 so much at first shave that I bought most of the other GC base plates and the Lupo line to try out as well. The GC .84's closest Lupo comparison is the .72 and they are more alike than different. In my opinion the Lupo offers a bit more blade feel and efficiency, while the GC was a smoother experience overall by a small margin. Lupo has a better head design to factor in as well.

I would recommend trying both to see where your preference falls.

I agree with what has been said above: the biggest difference is blade feel. Out of curiosity, I tried the Gamechanger 1.05 gap when it came out; only GC I have tried. It is still a very smooth feeling razor despite the larger blade gap. The Lupo 95 has more blade feel, and that is my preference. They both provide about the same amount of efficiency for me.

The difference in blade feel between the Came changers and the Lupos (I mean the SB heads) is because:

1. Lupos have scallops on the guard, whereas the Game Changers are smooth.
2. Lupos have more exposure than the Game changers.

Both those differences will lead to a closer contact of the blade to the skin, resulting in more blade feel, but also closer shaves with the Lupos.

For me I didn't like how the blade is held in the GC plus the .84 was not very efficient. The Lupo .95 stomps all over it for my face/whiskers. I also prefer a little blade feel so the Lupo wins out there. The GC was one of my least favorite razors that I've tried over the years. I may be in the minority though.

It is the so called bullet (the round post) vs the slot design. Only on the Lupo it is not one long slot going through all the head, but two separate smaller ones.
Gillette first used bullet, then with the NEW went to the slot. The bullet alignment is more prone to disalagnment.

I highly recommend Permasharps in the .95, unless you already tried it.

An interesting thing about the Aluminium Lupo it looks very much like the Gamechanger from the side. Makes me wonder if the ss Lupo series was meant to be the GC 2.0, with additional changes.

My gc84 just arrived today so will be testing in the coming days, but I love Lupo 95. So far i like the Wizamet super iridium. Permasharps weren't quite as smooth. I'll be curious, and surely update once I try the game changer but it has a high bar to go against for me
