What's new

What instrument do you play?

I've played the Bb trumpet from 4th grade until 12th. However when I joined the local drum corps, I played trumpet my first, tuba in my second, and now the euphonium in my third (current) year. I can't sit and play, I have to run around a football field for 11 minutes!

I used to play organ/keyboard for many years.

1st. chair cornet in jr. high and high school; quit when it wasn't 'cool' to be in marching band.

clarinet, when i was a kid

enough electric guitar and keyboards to make a living with them for a couple years

enough acoustic guitar and harmonica to make a living with those for a couple years too

but if i could play anything under the sun, it would either be accordion or bagpipes - and so i intend to take those up

or maybe trombone

:^)

Main instrument I make money with is the melodeon or button accordion. I have MAD, melodeon acquisition disorder - I have five!

Also play mandolin, five string banjo, four string Irish tenor banjo, guitar, Anglo concertina and occasional bass guitar though I don't own one!

I carried a trumpet around in the marching band does that count? When I did decide to play I usually was playing 1st. 2nd. and 3rd part depending on who I was standing beside on the field.

Clarinet primarily in school, expanded to bass clarinet, alto and tenor sax for musical pit orchestras. Baritone horn for marching band.

I just sing in choirs now.

But when it wasn't cool to be in a marching band, it was cool to be in a drum corps!

Trumpet in school, mostly jazz band, but I haven't picked it up in 14 years.

I now actively play three banjos (clawhammer) and a mountain dulcimer, play around with an autoharp and various tinwhistles/recorders/flutes/harmonicas, and provide shelf space for a concertina, a couple jaw harps, wooden bones, a hand drum, and a set of wooden spoons. Plus my wife has a fiddle, two harps, and one of those big hippie-drum-circle drums. Instruments in our house are as numerous as kittens in an animal shelter, and our no-kill policy is starting to wear thin.

Trumpet, 4th grade through college. Quit for 15 years. Started playing again at church. Played with a community band for a couple years, and a church big band for a year. Quit again about 2 years ago, but looking to start back up.

I am a drummer and have been for the past 25 years. I also play guitar a bit and for the past 8 months I have been obsessed with the Ukulele - four fingers, four strings = perfect!
