What's new

What d'ya reckon?

Mods - sorry if this is in the wrong area, I hope not.

I've read a lot about Merkur's. This Vision is £25 at the moment, what do you think guys?

4 days left so advice welcome

That's a pretty good deal. I think it's overpriced new, what with the issues that have come up. If I could get a Vision for that cheap I'd go for it. With 3 days left, though, I don't see it staying that low, but good luck.

I personnaly wouldn't recommend the vision as a first DE. They are very large and adjustable. If you go with it start at a low number and don't change it until you are competent with it. A vintage Gillette can be had for much cheaper and you will most likely have a better experience. As always though YMMV.

I had great lick with the Merkur HD as my first DE. Very easy to use and control. I just stuck with it until my razor AD kicked in and now I have 9 of the things. My HD and my 1904 are my basic go to razors though.

Thanks for the replies guys. I quite like the look of some of the Parkers, I might try and read up on them as well. :001_smile

There's a rule to not link live auctions. Reason being that others may already be bidding on it, and linking the auction gets a lot of other people in on it, which ruins existing bidders chances of a low price.
Case in point, that vision is listing at £41 now.

If you go for a parker, most say avoid the TTO and get a 3 piece. The TTO has a chance of uneven blade gaps due to cheap manufacturing.
If you're in the UK, get a vintage british Tech, NEW or Rocket, some of the best razors ever made.
