What do you use as a bevel setter?

For me I use a 325 DMT for anything that has damage to the edge followed up with the 600 side of the DMT.

If no chips I use a Naniwa Chosera 1K for all my bevel setting needs.

I have gone down to DMT 325 or 600 or 1200.

If I just needs a touch up I set it with a large Botan with Botan slurry.

i use several. my latest is a king 1k but i also use others such as a soft arki, 600 dia. plate, coti's, and a lily white washita. just whatever the mood strikes and the edges condition.

I have a Naniwa SS 1k and a King 1k. I like both but for different reasons. The Nani is smooth, while the King has more of an abrasive feel to it. For some reason though, the Nani seems to be faster than the King...Could just be me though..

I know there are many guys here own Cretan Hones. Although I'm still searching for a one, I heard it is the ideal stone for chip removal and bevel setting.
So its strange that none of the veteran honers don't use one. Waiting to see the comments of a user here.

Its strange indeed!!

The 325 is reserved for lapping duties, though I guess if I were to pick up an antique store find that is in bad shape, I'd use the 325 first.
