What do you think of this as a preshave oil ?

Not a big fan of the fact that mineral oil is #1 in the ingredients. I'd shoot for something more natural. Even straight Jojoba oil gets used by some people around here.

My local Walmart has some on sale and it seems to fit the bill in a similar manner as the Origins preshave oil that was mentioned in another thread.

thanks,

Hi George,
I don't think that there's anything minutely special about this product, aside from marketing. Linux already identified Mineral Oil as the first ingredient and since this is first, according to INCI listing regulations, it means that it is the highest concentration of all the ingredients in this product.

The company maintains that it uses a “breakthrough ingredient” known as PurCellin oil. Are you kiddin'? As it turns out, this oil is the substance ducks secrete from their skin to keep their feathers waterproof. In fact, PurCellin oil isn’t even included on Bio-Oil’s ingredient list :001_huh:. What you're getting is a mix of mineral oil and emollients to your skin, along with commonplace vitamins...you can get this through baby oil and add some vitamins

I wouldn't use mineral oil too often on skin (I and numerous others have discussed this at length in various threads and posts...you can do a simple search to find them)...Instead I would use a few drops of Glycerin in your soap or creme (on top of what's there already). Glycerin is natural and a very good humectant...LOVES moisture :thumbup1:. But, make sure you apply it on moist skin, NOT DRY...it will suck moisture from your skin, if skin is dry.

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers,
Robert

I decided against buying it though I was intrigued about this claim:
======================
Bio-Oil Is A Spe......t Skincare Product Formulated to Help Improve The Appearance of Scars, .....

I figured I could get a jump on the results of my clumsy technique. :biggrin1:

Good decision George...I agree, work on technique and don't ignore a good prep and lather and face time with that lather :thumbup1:

Good luck,
Robert
