What do you do with the rejects?

A little while back I had a bout of ASAD hit and purchased quite a few. Now that I've had the chance to try them out there are a small handful of 'rejects' that I need to figure out what to do with. I don't want to just sell them on the BST because between the low costs of the aftershave (</=$10 usually) and the cost of shipping to somebody it kind of makes it pointless to sell them. On top of that, some of them came in nice glass bottles that I wouldn't mind keeping to decant some good juice into that came in plastic. So...any suggestions? What do you do with the rejects?

PIF them to someone who might appreciate them.

I've been thinking about that too. Would it be inconsiderate to keep the glass bottles they came in though? I'm considering just holding onto them until I get enough products together to do a 'den reduction' sale on the BST. I was mostly wondering if anybody had any ideas for repurposing the AS they don't like.

Another thought I had was maybe seeing if Garry's Sample Shop wants them since that would open up some of our new guys to the option of getting samples of these.

what about them don't you like? Scent? Feel? Dry down?

I guess I should have mentioned that. It's mainly a scent thing. For instance I have some British Sterling and some English Leather. I've tried to make them work, but they just aren't getting along with me.

After-Franken-Shaves!

That's a make or break type of deal after that usually. So work with small quantities and write the proportions (1:1, 1:2, etc). I sometimes add a few drops of peppermint Essential oil as I like the mentholated effect in my AS. It changes the scent a bit. I would try to use something similar to mix them. As an example, I mixed Pinaud Lilac Vegetal with some Booster Lilac. The result is quite nice.

I use small Tabasco bottles to decant them so that way I don't pollute the original.

You could send out small samples when you sell other items like soap or cream. Whenever I sell something, I usually include a free pack of blades (ones that I purchased and don't use).

I think that local trades are great for something like aftershaves. Bottles can be large and it can cost a buyer the same to have one shipped as to just buy one new; add to that the fact that a lot of AS's seem to be very YMMV, and it seems to be a great situation for people in the same neighborhood to just swap and have both parties try out something new without having to ship things back and forth.
