Tuesday's shave
The Forgotten Blades edition

Pre-shave: shower
Razor: 1940's fat-handle Tech
Blade: NOS Schick Plus Platinum, Teflon coated, #1
Soap: Cella red
Brush: Omega Professional
Post shave: Thayer's WH folowed by Cell red A/S splash

DFS, 9.0 / 10

How did I forget about these? When I was working in Chicago, my wife buried these somewhere, and I stumbled upon them again while cleaning my closet. :c9: Shortly after joining here, I got about 100 of these blades off eBay. I'm not saying how many I have left. lol

Anyway, as wonderful as I remember them. The most surprising thing about them is that they are as smooth on on the first shave as any more modern blades are on shave #2. I don't know why that is, and I cannot imagine how we actually lost technology in these things, but there you have it.

The.
Smoothest.
Blade.
Ever.

As I recall these are good for about a week's worth of shaves, too. I will report as the shaves progress.

What Razor, Pre-shave product, brush/Soap and Aftershave(s) did you use today and how would you rate the whole shaving experience and postshave feel 1-10. (10 best)?

Today I used:
Proraso green preshave cream
MDC Original soap
Muhle Stylo synthetic brush
Rockwell 6S (Plate 3)
Astra SP Blade (first use)
Proraso Green AS
Saponificio Varesino Stella Alpina AS
Rating: 9
Today I used:
Bigelow shaving cream
Edwin Jagger brush
Treet falcon blade
Parker variant
Stirling Barber Shop aftershave
Rating: 8/10

I was impressed with the Treet falcon in my new sample pack. Besides a few nicks that were my fault, I got a really good shave. Blade was smooth. 3 passes with some touch up

SOTD:
WR-1 .61 / Gillette Yellow
Elite Manchurian
A&E Vacanza Romana & Splash (Kaizen)

Another day, another excellent shave. I love the scent of Vacanza Romana, and today the lather and glide were fabulous. I had the very tiniest of nicks so it's going to get a 9.8/10 but that's really a quibble.

Brush: Simpson PJ3in Best- what a fun big brush, very soft and luxurious

Post-shave: cold rinse, then Fine American Blend AS and some Clubman talc

Have a great day!

Pre: Proraso white
Brush: Craving Shaving Supervisor
Lather: SW Druantia sample
Blade: Personna med prep (2)
Razor: Grand Shave King
Post: Thayer’s, PAA bay rum star jelly

This razor is extremely mild. Three passes with some touch ups to get DFS. Smooth though.
I had previously thought the knot in the brush was a Boss knot but talking to Craving Shaving I’m informed it’s their Supervisor knot which they no longer carry. Big time bummer since this knot works incredibly well at whipping up a really nice lather quickly. And lo and behold I forgot to put the darn thing in the photo. Doh! Well here it is. I love it. Bought here on the BST too.

- Blade: Lord Silver Star (1)
- Soap: Canada Shaving Soap (Unscented)
- Aftershave: Speick
- Post Shave: Thayers Rose, Hyaluronic Acid

@SgtCrppls Great minds think alike. Great soap.

Immicpxed everything up for tonight’s shave and it was pretty good. The Progress isnt my favourite razor but it does a good job with the Silver Star.

Canada soap is amazing stuff. One of the best lathering soaps I have ever used. The M7 is my favourite synth brush and it did a great job lathering this soap.

I think I've gotten to the point where even my second-rate shaves are pretty good, and that's what I had today! Nothing really wrong with this shave but the razor felt a little harsh, that's all. Results BBS-. Rating: 9/10.

A very nice enjoyable shave with this razor. The edge felt really good. Smooth and comfortable for 3passes without any issues for a ccs/sas result. Awesome aftershaves as well! Rating 9.3/10

Razor: Rockwell T2 White chrome
Blade: Dorco st300
Soap: Proraso White
Aftershave: Proraso white balm

First time using the Dorco st300. I've read most of you consider this an uncomfy blade so my expectations were pretty low.
However for me, this was a very comfy shave. I find the blade to be sharp enough and extremely forgiving! Enjoyed shaving with it. Curious as to how many shaves I can get out of this blade.
Just looked up the price and it's almost half the price of 100 voskhod and Gillette platinums. These are a bargain!
