Razor: RazoRock Game Changer .84 P with HD handle
Blade: Rapira Platinum Lux (4)
Brush: Omega Sintex synthetic
Soap: Palmolive shave stick
Rating: 9.5

This afternoon's good shave on almost 2 days of growth. BBS after WTG/XTG/ATG passes, with one reopened nick from my last shave, but no irritation.

In my second test shave with the Palmolive stick, for a fair comparison with Arko, I decided to use the Omega brush instead of the Muhle synthetic because I usually use the Omega with Arko. The Palmolive results were still favorable today, although the lather was a little wetter today than last time with the Muhle brush.

I noticed some minor cutting resistance today from the Rapira blade on all three passes. Not sure if it is starting to get dull, but I will try another shave with it next time and see what happens.

- Brush: Simpson M7 Best Badger
- Razor: Razorock Hawk SE
- Blade: Feather AC Pro (3)
- Soap: Wholly Kaw Tempest
- Aftershave: Wholly Kaw Tempest AS and Balm
- Post Shave: Thayers Rose, Hyaluronic Acid

Wholly Kaw, that was a good shave. 🤪 Tempest is such a weird scent. Basically wet dirt but in a strangely pleasant way. Performance is top notch though.

After 3 shaves, I am very comfortable with the Hawk razor and really like the SE format. I ordered most of the other AC blade types available (Feather and KAI) last week and looking forward to trying some different blades when they arrive from Japan.

The M7 Best is such a nice brush. Perfect amount of softness and backbone.

No weepers or irritation. Just a great smooth shave.

This is my first first experience with the “cashmere” knot, and I was impressed.
That is really cool and strange looking!
I suppose I could bowl lather with a drop or two of essential oil. When I get back to home, I'll try it.
Let us know--it would be great to know if unscented options can be dressed up that way. I'm mixing two soaps together these days and having fun with the result; maybe that would be another approach.

Well, I should have put in a new Kai blade, but I wanted to try a Wizamet Iridium Super for the first time and things weren't great:

This was a very irritating shave. I can think of two reasons:

1) The blade's coating may be different than I've ever used and possibly not a good fit for my skin.

2) More likely: switching from a Kai blade, which is wider and thus offers a little more blade exposure, this normal-sized blade almost felt like it wasn't even there. I think I may have compensated by pressing down to recover that blade feel (which I like) and just took off way too much skin.

This may be telling me that I can be very successful with a razor that offers some blade exposure, as I've learned a lot about managing angle and pressure. I will go back to a Kai blade to test this theory.

Wed 5th SOTD
Soap Barrister & Mann TFMOM
Brush Yaqi 26mm Moka Express 2 Band Badger
Razor Karve Brass SB-D
Blade Gillette London Bridge 1st
Post & Aftershaves Ice Water + Stirling Witchhazel MitA + Hyaluronic + Barrister & Mann TFMOM Balm
Really special scented soap. Cigarish/Tobaccoish scented and kinda sweet? The lather was creamy and good slickness...
Shave with razor paired with the blade was very good. Very smooth and comfortable for 3passes without issues for a mostly bbs finish. Awesome cooling from MitA and the AS balm truly lasted and was able to enjoy the aromatic Cigarish/Tobaccoish scent for many hours. Rating 10/10!
