Coming to the end of this soap. The AP Shaving Syn struggled loading sufficient soap on the bits and pieces of the soap so I ended up scraping some off and put it in the CC bowl. Unlike the Shavemac 177 I used yesterday, this did not have sufficient backbone for the job. After changing techniques, I was able to make sufficient lather. A decent shave, nevertheless.

Tuesday's one-pass SAS, Socially Acceptable Shave, no mishaps, 8-/10. Continuing my goal for this week of seeing how good a shave I could get each day in just one pass. Today was okay, but the last couple of days was better. Was it the soap today or the blade starting to fail?

Pre-shave: shower and face wash
Razor: Occam's OREN- two-dot head
Blade: Feather Pro (6)- ?
Brush: Omega 10083 Pro
Soap: Cremo Coconut Mango shave stick- it's pretty slick, but not as good a shave as the last couple of days. Maybe the soap didn't soften my whiskers as much as others do?
Post-shave: cold rinse, Old Spice AS

Have some great shaves this week!

Soap: Arko
Razor: Le Grelot 6/8
Strop: Tony Miller Steerhide
Brush: Omega boar
Aftershave: Witch hazel / Brut

Great shave. Great feeling edge. Got 2 very minor weepers but did not survive final rinse. Good aftershave burn but no irritation/cuts. Good uniform closeness. Can't ask for any better.

Brut seems hit or miss for me. Some mornings I really enjoy it, but today I'm like....meh...

- Brush: Zenith Manchurian
- Razor: Karve (OC-D plate)
- Blade: Personna Med Prep (3)
- Cream: St. James of London Sandalwood and Bergamot
- Aftershave Balm: St. James of London Sandalwood and Bergamot
- Post Shave: Thayers Rose, Hyaluronic Acid

Great shave this morning.

The Zenith is such a good brush. In the same class as Simpson and other Manchurian brushes from top manufacturers at fraction of the price. And it is getting better with every use.

The Karve OC-D plate is intimidating but can be very smooth and efficient. I have figured it out after a few shaves and it is easy to get close to a BBS shave with no irritation or weepers/nick. The key is next to no pressure. If you push the Karve OC-D into your face, you will bleed.

St. James is the best cream I have tried and the Sandalwood and Bergamot scent is outstanding.

I left off yesterday saying I needed to back off on my shave today to quell some irritation...did I manage?

tempImage6OAsI1.jpg

I think so. I put in two passes (WTG, XTG) with the Feather Kamisori shavette and just a few touchups with the R41 (WTG on the chin, XTG on the jawline, and just a little ATG on the sideburns). That's a pretty mild shave by my standards, maybe about 50% of the usual work I do. The results are a mix of CCS, DFS, and a touch of BBS (on the sideburns only). The irritation factor was much lower tonight although I think the pink bumps I'd developed over a few days of overzealous shaving might take a while to subside. My skin feels a lot nicer tonight than it did last night, however.

The trio of scents--Catie's Bubbles Le Marche du Rasage / Stirling Executive Man splash / Nivea Sensitive Cool balm--were wonderful together. All either aquatic or cologne-esque.

I rate this shave as a 6/10 for results, but I really hit my target as far as process. A moral victory.
