GEM Monday shave, 9/10- smooth and comfortable, two tiny weepers, a great way to start the week:

Pre-shave: shower, warm face splash
Razor: GEM 1912 razor
Blade: GEM SS blade (4?)
Brush: Switchback 400 w/ 24mm badger knot- this knot exploded with lather on this the second use. I think I'll delegate this brush to using with soap sticks, or a bowl, as it bloomed enough that it barely fit in the soap container. There was lots of lather left after my shave.
Soap: DG Yuzu, Rose, Patchouli- gobs of lather, soft and cushiony
Post-shave: rinse, alum, DG Yuzu, Rose, Patchouli AS, Cerave moisturizer

May each of your shaves this week be better than the last!

Pre-shave: Proraso Red
Soap: Stirling British Leather
Razor: Modified Gold Dollar
Brush: Omega boar
Aftershave: Skin Bracer
Balm: Nivea Sensitive

Straight shave #15

3 passes with some cleanup. Really took my time on this one. No weepers/irritation/aftershave burn. A little less close of a shave than yesterday, but that's fine. Still messing around with skin stretching/hitting the skin at different angles with the blade. Tried a little bit of an ATG feeler on my chin but instantly said nope. Not quite there yet. I do have a new proper strop now with a canvases side, so may set up the back of the canvass side with some paste soon. The edge seems to be holding up fine but I don't think I will hurt anything if I were to give it a few laps with some paste in the next few days at this point as an experiment.

9/10.

- Face wash with Clinique for Men Face Soap.
- Pre-shave: Proraso Red.
- Soap: Stirling Spice.
- Bowl: Captain's Choice Ceramic (Cobalt Blue)
- Brush: Simpson's WCS Lantern synthetic.
- Razor: Rockwell 6S/R4.
- Blade: Red Personna (1).
- Aftershave: American Crew Revitalizing Toner + Clinique Post-Shave Soother.

Experience: The new Personna blade torqued down to the R4 plate took care of my two-day growth in what has become a routine two-and-one-half passes. I was curious to see if the blade would feel anything like the Crystals I'd been using for a couple of weeks, and I'm going to say it does, though maybe a little easier through the wire-brush stubble. Anyway, I like both blades a lot.

Rating: 9/10

- Prep: Shower
- Brush: Spiffo High Mountain White (Manchurian)
- Razor: Rockwell 6S (R6)
- Blade: Gillette Goal Super Platinum (1)
- Soap: B&M Hallows
- Aftershave: B&M Hallows Balm
- Post Shave: Thayers Rose, Hyaluronic Acid

Good quick 2 pass shave after a disastrous shave yesterday.

My Spiffo HMW is starting to break in and I am loving this knot. Soft and dense but great backbone. May be my perfect knot.

The Gillette Goal is a very underrated blade IMO. Nice and smooth but fairly sharp. I ordered the Stainless version, so I am looking forward to comparing them to the Super Platinum. These are discontinued apparently but there are still a few floating around.

Cool looking brushes these Spiffo. Yours and @ouchyfoot

First shave with my Gillette Bulldog which just came in the mail today.

Kai- 1st blade 5th shave
AOS Sandalwood pre shave
AOS Oud Shaving cream
post shave of acne wash then blackhead scrub, cold rinse then alum block, cold rinse then AOS Sandalwood aftershave

Can’t tell if it was just the way the bulldog shaves and feels, but felt incredibly smooth with less sharpness. The Kai may be losing its edge a bit more than I’d like, will test with my r41 tomorrow to have a better idea since I’m used to that as my daily driver. If it feels too dull then it’s binned tomorrow. Looking forward to trying out these Wizamet super iridium blades anyhow

Overall have rating of 8.5/10 because it was still pretty close but just below BBS and I had to touch up a couple areas that were pretty stubborn to getting that extra closeness. No irritation though so that’s always a plus!

Got my 3rd Timeless today the Ti SB .95, and it was great.
Blade: Polsilver (1)
Brush: Simpson’s Duke 3 Best
Soap: PdP No. 63
Razor: Timeless SB .95
Post Shave: PdP No. 63 Aftershave Balm, PdP No. 63 Cologne

Smooth, efficient, great shave, no feedback from the Alum block, I love how smooth my
Timeless SS SC .68 is, but I think I like having a little blade feel. My face really can not take my Timeless Ti OC .95 everyday, so I think for me the Ti SB .95 May be the perfect combination of efficiency and smoothness, we will see.

Monday Shave

Pre-shave: Shower/hot washcloth/PAA The Cube
Razor: Gillette B2 Red Tip
Blade: Voskhod Teflon
Brush: Fuller reknot
Soap: Arko
Bowl/Mug: 3d printed bowl
Post Shave: Sea Breeze
AS: Clubman Special Reserve

48hrs of growth

Well, I decided that the Red Tip did such a good job paired with the Voskhod, that I used that pairing again.
Soap for this shave is a urinal puck. Well, that's unfair to the urinal puck, scent wise. But honestly, I can't complain about the performance of Arko, but I refuse to sing it's praises because it smells bad.
Did my 3 1/2 passshave, and again, the pairing of the razor and blade delivered excellent results.
The wipedown with Sea Breeze was a good zinger..
Clubman got the nod for the aftershave for the day...
Overall a DFS. Just a touch of sandpaper in a couple of spots.

No nicks: 5
No irritation: 5
Closeness: 4.8
Smoothness: 4.8
Total: 9.8
