Monday afternoon shave

Razor: Joseph Allen & Sons
Brush: Badger
Soap: Tabac
Post: Brut

A leisurely afternoon shave with the snow falling hard. The Sheffield steel was described recently as buttery feeling. I must agree with that description, smooth and comfortable.
Happy Monday!

Rating 10/10 3 pass plus touchups BBS

Todays shave was very much like yesterdays shave. It was a comfortable, drama free shave XTG then XTG in the opposite direction and finally ATG with ATG touchups in two spots on my neck. Once again the shave just felt more efficient than what I have been experiencing. After the third pass a couple of small touchups. These blades don't feel bitey like Nacets or Bic Chromes. I am asking myself why have I left them sitting unused in a drawer so long?

Got my Timeless Titanium OC. .95 today, shaved early yesterday to maximize my hair growth. First time I have ever used OC and if I had not been using a Timeless I never would have.

Just to play it safe for my first shave I used a Voskhod blade, the Titanium razor is so nice great feel on your face.

It was an incredible shave, no nicks, cuts or weepers, used an Alum block after and not even a hint of irritation.

Voskhod Blade
Timeless Ti OC. .95 razor
Australian Mallee Burl with a 24mm SHD Maggard 2 band
MDC Argumes, the soap was incredible could have done 5 passes, MDC and Ethos are definitely a step up from every soap I own. Will keep using the ones I have for variety.
Used Lucky Tiger for the first time today, no irritation. Pinaud Clubman aftershave and no irritation.

This was definitely a 10/10 shave.

Thanks to Hanna’s Dad for suggesting I go for the Ti OC .95, instead of the .68

Brush Yaqi 26mm Orange Black
Razor Karve Brass SB-D
Blade Shark Super Stainless 1st

The leftover lather from yesterday is still good enough for today's shave. Almost no more scent though.
Shave with razor paired with the blade was ok. Reasonably smooth and comfortable enough for 3passes dfs/ccs result but micro creepers were seen later. Enjoyable shave with the lead...Karve Razor! Rating 9.5

2nd attempt at La Toja better results with slickness but my piggie ate the lather :c3:

Razor : RazoRock OC 84
Brush : Omega 10098
Blade : Laser Ultra (2)
Stick : La Toja
Aftershave : Alum rub, Nivea Sensitive

Rating : 6.5/10
Shave went better than yesterday, La Toja is slowly coming along and produced better slick lather.

I chose the wrong brush for today's shave, tomorrow Beehive will get a chance with La Toja.

Tabac Tuesday on 24h growth, and another test shave with the gamechanger: this time I think I understood how to make it work.

IMG_20210126_093715.jpg

Proraso pre Red | Yaqi Moka badger | Tabac Original | RR Gamechanger 0.84 + Nacet (2nd use) | Aloe Vera Gel and Tabac AS

With the few other razors I have I always use a shallow angle, and that's how I've been shaving for a long time with great results. But simply I couldn't crack this gamechanger, the shaves were rather mediocre, and I kept experimenting.
This morning I tried to go with a sharp blade, Nacet on 2nd use (I'm finding them to improve after the first...), and steep angle, riding the guard and using it almost as a rake. :D

The result is great, much improved from the other times! smooth but still moderately efficient, at least on a short, day stubble.
I still think this RR won't be for me the razor to rule them all, but with some more technique improvements can be a nice addition.

(Tabac is always king)

3 passes + touch-ups
