No preshave, except face wash.
Stirling soap Agar was really good with a synthetic brush, way better than what I have got with naturals this week.

Razor was Charcoal Goods lvl2 copper with a Gillette silver blue blade (4). This combination is as good as it gets for me. Face feels like glass.

9.8/10.

Drove a new favorite of my collection, 8/10. A tad "nippy" on the jawline and trouble spots, but very efficient. May try a smoother blade in this old girl next time; aftershave burned a little more than usual😜

Lather: Tabac
Aftershave: Derby City Chop Shop Winter Reserve
Additional Care: Razorock Alumn

Much better shave today.
Used my trusty Tabac soap. Had the razor on setting #2. Took my time shaving, paying attention to the razor angle and the feedback I was getting from it. Interestingly enough I have an area around my Adam's apple I usually get a weeper on....but not today. 3 passes WTG, XTG. ATG and a little touch-up. DFS+++++
Was thinking about selling the Futur but today changed my mind. It's a keeper. I just need to get better acquainted with it.

Two pass shave WTG, ATG & touch up. BBS  This is my first synthetic brush and I am really liking it. I think a Yaqi is in my future.

When I am doing a blade seek, I like to shave with the same configuration for at least 8 shaves. 4 shaves on a blade seems like a reasonable useage. This is the first experience with a blade and can be used to decide if I want to continue with the combo. The next 8-12 shaves help me optimize the technique and really get to know the blade. Also, my skin has a chance of acclimate to the change.

Most blades change sharpness with each use. So if you compare shave #1 blade #1 with shave #1 blade #2 then you are only observing the initial sharpness of each blade.

The initial sharpness of Derby Extra and Derby Premium are not all that different.
YMMV
