What did you use today? +Rate the shave 1-10 (10 best)

Just curious, what kept you from rating it higher?

I have changed my personal scoring system to judge a little harsher. I have not been in this style of shaving very long in the grand scheme of things. Every week or so I find that the shave was just a bit better. If I would score this shave a 9+ I wouldn't have anywhere to go with what could be a better shave.

If you ever watch a pizza review from barstool it is the same idea. He has over 400 reviews and I think 8 are 9+.

In let's say 2 years I hope I am just knocking them dead everyday. I do have two little spots in my neck line, one on each side. If I don't hit those with perfect angle and pressure I get irritation. I feel just a touch of it today. Great shave as far as smoothness goes but room for improvement.

This got really long. Sorry.

Hope that answers your question.

Apart from trying a little too much so ending up with WTG ATG XTG and then too much buffing .... the shave is probably the best I've achieved so far in terms of the same finish everywhere (if that makes sense)
Beginning to understand the mechanics a bit more

Really liking the Trumpeter soap and the serum feels the best of the limited few I've tried

The Ambassador is a really fine instrument!

Today's shave:
Prep: Wash face with soap and rinse. Pre-lather some shaving cream and leave it on while bowl lathering. Rinse with hot water.
Soap: Declaration Grooming Fourth & Pine
Brush: Shavemac D01 2 band
Razor: Fatip Piccolo
Blade: Rapira PL (4)
AS: Epsilon Blue

Rating: 8/10

The blade is struggling more, probably 1 more shave left. Still, DFS+ and zero-irritation after my typical 3-pass shave. I haven't used the Shavemac in a while. It is too stiff and was felling scritchy last time I used it. However, today it performed well lathering in a bowl and I felt no prickliness while painting the lather on the face. The Epsilon AS is great for hot and humid days like today.

Regardless of the setup, I always get a more comfortable shave and better post shave results when I use a pre-shave oil.
