Today is rainy and cool morning--should be able to harvest enough rain water for several days of shaving.

Prep: Washed my hair in the sink and used dove creamsoap to wash my face
Pre Shave: Proraso the white one (lots of it)
Razor: Parker 24c
Blade: Lord platinum (5th shave)
Brush: Yaqi rainbow brown synthetic 26
Soap: Razorock XXX
Aftershave: Proraso lotion green
Rating : 8,5 /10

So my order from a greek store came in today. I received the parker 24c, the yaqi synthetic rainbow brown brush, lord platinum, dorco and kai blades and the Razorock xxx shaving soap. I also received an OSMA french alum block.

I washed and soaked my face with warm water and soap and then used pre shave. I proceeded to make lather using the yaqi brush and razorck soap. Easy foam production and tons of lather. It was my first time using an open comb razor and even though my blade was kinda old, i still had a close shave! I think the Parker 24c is aggressive enough but in the same time it's smooth and forgiving! Nice razor.

The brush was amazingly smooth and tender. I really liked it. Plus it is gorgeous looking. The soap provided a very nice and close shave with no irritations. Overall I am pleased with today's shave and I am looking forward to future shaves. I forgot to use the alum block, but i will use it next time.

Proraso Red Preshave
Bullet Tip SE w/ PTFE blade (2)
Autumn Glory Soap & EDT
Whipped Dog Silvertip Badget
Witch Hazel
Unscented splash

A careless, undisciplined shave resulted in a weeper in my neck along with irritation. Just laziness I suppose. Very disappointing. Need to probably take tomorrow off and let the face rest. Haven't had that much through the last 16 months. Short and sweet.

Pre-Shave: Cold water splash - OPR Bay Rum soap
Soap: Black Ship Grooming Thomas Tew
Brush: Barrister and Mann Tuxedo synthetic
Razor: Karve Brass SB (Plate B) w/Charcoal Goods brass Torpedo handle
Blade: Kai SS (3)
Post-Shave: Cold water splash - Thayers Witch Hazel - Lucky Tiger Face Tonic
AS: Pinaud Clubman Sweet Rum

WIll probably get another one or two shaves from this Kai blade before swapping it out. Great shave this morning. Yesterday's shave with the Charcoal Goods was so close, the Karve had an easy time of it. Sweet Rum for Clubman Friday! Sweet citrus and Sweet Rum!

Happy Shaves, Everyone! Have a good weekend.

Splashed hot water on my face,
Loaded Pre de Provence with the Kent BK4,
Gave my face three passes with a Personna Israeli Red (despite its UK packaging) on day 3, in an Edwin Jagger DE89,
Showered, and
Splashed on 4711 cologne as my aftershave.

9/10. It is BBS and free of nicks, weepers, and irritation, but the PIR is just not as comfortable as the Crystal which preceded it, especially on XTG on the neck and ATG on the upper lip. I am a big fan of comfort.

That was yesterday. Today was the customary switchover to TOBS sandalwood soap and day 4 on the Personna. I know there is enough variability in a puck of soap or a razor blade that one ought not draw firm conclusions from single comparisons, but the past month and a half have shown shaving with TOBS to be better than Pre de Provence and Crystal to be superior to Israeli Personna for comfort and closeness.

Prep: hot towel
Blade: PSI #5
Razor: Muhle R41
Brush: Muhle synthetic
Soap: SV Opuntia
Aftershave: alum, Thayers rose witch hazel, SV Opuntia

4 pass: hot WTG, lukewarm XTG, cold ATG, cold ATG. Riding the cap. 4th pass because my jawline felt rough.

Maybe 2 little weepers and I got a small nick on a scar near my lip. Zero alum burn above the jawline (even on the nick which is weird) but below lit up with some pain. Very close and smooth. Closer than G7B #5 and closer than Feather #3.

I love the scent of the SV Opuntia soap!

No tugging: 5
