Razor: Blackland Blackbird sb
Blade: Crystal Super+Platinum (1)
Brush: Razorock 400
Soap: Stirling Spice
Post: GFT Extract of Limes Skin Food
Rating: 10

I think this is the 11th different blade I’ve tried in the Blackbird since I got it and like all the others it provided a very close and irritation free shave. All these blades retain their individual characteristics, sharpness etc. but in the Blackbird they seem to shave at the highest level they’re each capable of. In this razor all the shaves have been excellent whereas in my other razors some of the blades might have have seemed below par. I’ve got more types to try but I’ll be very surprised if I come across any that don’t work. It’s been a while since I’ve used the Trumpers skin food but I really enjoy it when I do.

Got out of Tabac attack to try a new soap I received today and didnt want to wait 2 weeks to try it.
Best shave of my life!
I can't tell 100% sure that if it was due to the soap or the new Astra in the FOCS but that was perfect. I didn't think it was possible to upgrade a soap to that point but this soap makes me replace the word "slickness" by "slideness". Razor was sliding neck and cheeks on that 2 days beard like it was on ice. Because scent is nice and special, because it's 30%off these days, just ordered 2 more and containing myself to not make it 4. (Limited edition makes nostalgic already).

Stopped using the FOCS for a while…experimented with a few other razors and finally decided to come back. Highly doubt I’ll try anymore….this razor just works and exceeds all others I have tried. I like it so much I just received my 2nd FOCS…a backup/travel razor.

Maggard v1 closed comb head on harbor freight center punch handle

Gillette 7 o'clock green super stainless (2)

Barbasol purple

Gillette blue AS gel

Stetson black AS balm

Another 8.
Single pass for work. This head is the most aggressive of the bunch. Had to find the angle. Lots of blade stickout and manual alignment. They've come really far since this head. But if you don't mind the alignment issue it's a very efficient head.

Really enjoyed this shave. The N075 was smooth and efficient.Shaving angle was easy to find. There is no learning curve with this razor. It is surprisingly efficient. Its like Rockwell 6s with plate 4 feel and plate 5 or 6 efficient for me. It took the number 1 spot in my den.

I didn't expect to shave until tomorrow, but I couldn't resist trying out my new razor:

24-hour beard

Gillette Travel Tech, 1967; new Shark blade

Palmolive Classic cream

APShaveCo synth tuxedo brush (for part of the shave; see below)

Clubman SR aftershave, Assured lotion, Clubman powder

Showered, did a little La Toja stick soap as a pre-shave; then I hand-lathered some of the Palmolive and worked it into my beard. Then, instead of waiting my usual 3 minutes, I made it about 1, and applied the razor. I was trying to approximate what I might do while, yanno, traveling. (I found, though, that lathering the cream by hand on my face provided relatively poor lather, and for my second pass I used the brush and whipped it up more. I guess I'll need to get a travel synth brush.)

I really did not expect the Travel Tech plus Shark blade to provide a very good experience. I've read here about Shark blades not being top-tier, and I really expected the tiny TT handle to make the shave difficult. But everything went very well. Pass 1, WTG; pass 2, throat only, ATG, and a little cleanup. Swift and smooth, not BBS but then I don't try for that with a 24-hour beard. Verdict: 9.2.
