Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock (3)
Brush: Rooney Bristle & Badger knot
Soap: PAA Tombstone
Bowl/Mug: Fleamarket bowl
Post Shave: Nivea w/ hyaluronic acid drops

Did my first shave out on my porch today. Been needing to clean it for quite a while now, as I haven't used it for over 2 years. Decided to get off my *** and stop making excuses and get it done.
So I did that this weekend, and got it scrubbed and cleaned.
My reward was to do my first outside shave since Marine Combat Training field shaves in '91. And those were not enjoyable, and many of them were dry shaves.
Some things I learned doing this outside shave: Getting ready to shave outside takes a lot longer that getting ready to shave inside.
Even shaving outside here in FL will make you sweat when it's 75 w/80% humidity.
Shaving while listening to the water run in your backyard wetlands is actually nice.

Today's shave was very nice.
I rate it a solid 9.25

Back to my normal routine...
hot water
lathered TOBS sandalwood soap with the Kent BK4
three passes with a Crystal on day 6 in an EJ DE89
hot shower
4711 cologne as aftershave

9.5/10

Finally read the abbreviations and acronyms thread and noted the FP, fool's pass, ATG on the upper lift. The term makes me think this is an atypical move. I have always done it. I guess I am a fool. O well.

Monday morning shave

Blade: Dorko
Brush: Boar
Soap: Tabac
Post: Stetson
A very close and comfortable shave this morning. Perhaps it’s the superior qualities of Tabac as the razor seemed to glide very nicely today. An all around excellent shave.
Happy Monday!

• Brush: Simpson’s Special Best Badger
• Razor: Rockwell 6S
• Blade: Personna Blue USA Platinum
• Lather: Proraso White Soap
• AS: Stirling - Island Man
• Post Shave: Alum Block and Hyaluronic Acid

Great shave today. First time using Proraso White and US made Personnas. I really like the scent of the White and the lather is typical Proraso. Great soap for the $$$. I ordered 200 of what I thought were Israeli Personnas but I received a 200 pack of USA made. I tried one and for the $25 I paid for the 200 blades, I’m good. Nice smooth but sharp blades!

9.5/10. Almost BBS.

Nivea sensitive tube cream

Omega s brush

Aqua velva blue

Nivea sensitive balm.

I give it a solid 8. Again just one pass with same direction touch up. But nice!!
Can't believe what I'm getting now with one pass!!! When I started it would take 2 passes to get this!!
And shaving daily is nice.
Let's face it, noone else can tell difference between SAS, DFS. Maybe BBS if they looked close.
But I'm just working.

Change the blades to Israeli Personnas, not USA. Thanks for correcting me @stoof2010.

I give up trying to figure out which Personna are which.

As per below, the packaging states “from” American Safety Razor Co., USA... not necessarily “made“ there. No reference to Israel anywhere, of course. 🤨

German box is almost identical. Just has german flag in circle. And tuck art looks different with gold saying platinum.

Soap Stirling Executive Man
Brush Yaqi 24mm Mountain Lake 2 Band Badger
Razor Parker SemiSlant head on a Yaqi Handle
Blade Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless #4
Post & Aftershave
Ice Water + Special Thayers Mix
Excellent soap! Really nice scent, good creaminess and slickness. Loading directly for 20secs with quite a dry brush and then face lathering was a great feeling and pleasure.
Shave with razor paired with blade was perfectly smooth and comfortable. Did not feel tugging during the 3+1 passes. BBS mostly. Unexpected weeper on the chin. Post & Aftershave was great...especially the GentsGin. Very good shave. Rating 9/10

Razor : iKon Slant X3
Blade : Crystal Super+ Platinum
Soap : Barrister and Mann
Brush : Yaqi 24 Silvertip
Post : Alum

WTG=>XTG=>ATG=> DFS++ 9.8/10.0

*** iKon X3 Slant is very smooth, non aggressive razor.
For BBS I have to use Feather or BIC with X3 to achieve it, IMHO.

The best shave in a long time:

36-hour beard (actually the whiskers were a fraction longer, as the shave 1.5 days ago was not close to BBS)

Merkur Progress, Rapira Swedish Supersteel blade (4)

Tabac in stick form

APShaveCo synthetic tuxedo brush

Clubman SR aftershave, Assured lotion, Clubman powder

Wow. The Progress really comes through. A shower, a little Tabac as a pre-shave, then face-lathered. After my regulation 3 minutes, I began with the razor, setting 3 (my Progress is mildest at 2). First pass WTG on cheeks and throat; setting 2.5 for the lower lip, then pass 2 on cheeks and throat, ATG. Finally, setting 2 for the lower lip's second pass; then back to 2.5 for the XTG pass on the throat, and a little cleanup. No irritation . . . and the left side of my throat, even when I brush my fingers ATG, seems to be utterly smooth. Perhaps that re-application on setting 2.5 was the answer. Verdict: 9.9!

Sorry to interrupt but was the site down from 445am michigan time until not sure when this morning? Couldn't get on. Server error.
