9/10. First shave with a Karve Brass. Really enjoyed it, probably one of the most satisfying first shaves I've had. I think we'll have a bright future together. Still struggling with nicks though, I'm hoping that just comes in time. However, closest thing I've had to a BSS since starting DE.

Pre: Shower, Proraso green pre-shave (first time with the Proraso. Not sure I dug the intense Menthol)
Brush: Viking White Knight
Soap: Stirling Barbershop
Razor: Karve Brass, B Plate
Blade: Astra SP (1)
Post: Lucky Tiger, Proraso White

I just bought the Karve brass head and base plate (B). It's Canadian so the whole thing cost me a little less than $60 American. Looking forward to checking it out.

New scent today.... And I like this. Please don't ask me to try explain it. I am not sure I can. I also am far from a Hipster so I am not sure how I feel about the name but I am not sure I care.

I also used the MMOC and I didn't draw blood so right away I am jacked for that. I will be using it again tomorrow.

When I use this razor I get such close tight shaves. I just know I can't use a new blade. I believe I am on day 5 or 6 on this blade and in this razor there is more life yet.

The Wunderbar is a great razor - really efficient and effective. The Silver Star blade really complements it.

Really nice shave! :)

Rating: 9.0/10 Close shave overall. A couple of weepers and a little razor burn

  • This razor is still new to me, so I am still trying out all of the plates I received with it. I stepped back to the B plate (less aggressive) today. Ironically, since I was using a less aggressive plate, I ended up being more aggressive with my method.
  • I also tried a new method on my upper lip. Between those two things, I ended up with a little razor burn and some minor weepers.

Fourth shave with this new acquisition.

1 nick that stopped on cold rinse. No irritation. No itching.
Very close and very pleasant shave.

I also love the scent of Hipster, though abhor the name :)

Prep
: Dial Liquid Soap face wash Razor: Viking Chieftain Brush: Viking Badger
Blade: Gillette 7 O’clock Black #1 / #1 (First ever shave with this blade brand)
Passes: 2 (WTG & ATG) buffing A/R
Soap: Viking Cedar Pine Scent, using rain water.
Post: Viking Shave balm and then Old Spice
Rating: 8.5 CCS I gave a low rating because I had lots of nicks and weepers—whether this arose from new blade break-in or shaver clumsiness remains to be determined. Despite the blood issues, the shave itself was close with no stubble.

Pre-Shave: Cold water splash - OPR Bay Rum soap
Soap: WSP BlackBeard
Brush: Simpson Trafalgar synthetic
Razor: RazoRock Mamba 70
Blade: Kai SS (1)
Post-Shave: Cold water splash - Thayers Witch Hazel - Lucky Tiger Face Tonic
AS: WSP BlackBeard

DFS near BBS...could have worked a spot on my neck a bit more. No worries. Bloodless.

Happy Shaves, Everyone!

24-hour beard (to get myself back on schedule for a close 48-hour beard shave on Saturday)

Merkur Progress razor, Personna Red blade (2)

Trumper's Almond cream

APShaveCo synthetic brush

Clubman SR aftershave, Assured lotion, Clubman powder

Since this was a 24-hour beard, I kept it light and simple. After my shower and a little Tabac as pre-shave, I face-lathered the Trumper's and went to work. One pass WTG at setting 2.5; WTG and ATG on the throat at 2. Not near BBS, but then I wasn't aiming at that. Verdict: 9.0.

Soap: Stirling Pumpkin Spice
Razor: Gem 1912
Brush: Omega 10077
Blade: Gem Stainless (9)
Aftershave: Old Spice

Farthest I've ever taken a blade. Excellent shave. Craving some DE though so I'm going to give the Gem a good clean, and put it away for a bit. I'm sure I'll end up picking it up again soon.

1 thing- I distinctly remember the smell of the original Old Spice formulation, I will never forget it for as long as I live. The classic variant that I can find at any drugstore does have a different smell to it, but does anyone here actually like the classic version more?
