🚀 👩‍🚀 👽 👾 SOTD - “Space/Futurist Week” September 2nd - 8th, 2024 🚀 👩‍🚀 👽 👾

Hello friends.

A surprisingly warm, summery winter day. I took the opportunity to take an imaginary trip to the Swiss Alps and chose Stirling Mountain Man for today's shave, which gave me a generous lather with the increasingly improved Pegasus Boar, a brush that I'm still learning how to use. I tried out my new razor that arrived yesterday, the RR Lupo 95 SB, which together with my favorite blade, the GSB (3) gave me a perfect shave. I finished with one of the AS that gives me the most pleasure, the magnificent Skin Bracer, and with Creed Silver Mountain, which transported me straight to the Matterhorn.

With us, a genius, Lee Morgan.

Rating: 10

Have a nice day and great shaves!

Razor: Lambda Athena
Blade: Wilkinson Sword Germany, 1st use
Brush: Wald A1
Bowl: Cayuen Dark Nebula Bowl
Preshave: Hot Shower & L’Occitane Verbena Shower Gel Soap
Soap: PAA Atmotic
Aftershave: PAA Atmotic
Balm: Whollykaw Bare Naked
Additional Care: Thayers Witch Hazel (Unscented)

The Athena felt great today. Just the right amount of blade feel while still being comfortable and safe. I used slow careful buffs ATG below the nose. Two micro-weepers blinked in and then out of existence in what was otherwise an uneventful and delightful shave. My wife declared that PAA Atmotic has a little bit too much of an unpleasant smoky wood note, and I think I agree. Off to long term storage it goes. BBS.

Wishing you a peaceful day.

9/4/24 - Wednesday morning pre-work shave

Pre: Shower
Soap: La Toja Stick
Brush: “Ol’ Floppy” - 20+ year old Vulfix badger brush
Razor: Game Changer .68
Blade: Wizamet Super Iridium (1)
A/S: Gentleman’s Nod Juniper Reverie
Moisturizer: Kiehl’s Facial Fuel

Face: 2.9/3
Neck: 2.9/3
Nicks/irritation and weepers: 3
Zen: 1/1
9.8/10

Pre-work a.m. shave. Quick, 2-pass shave with a new Wizamet in the Game Changer. Extremely smooth DFS+, no irritation whatsoever. This is probably my favorite blade. Juniper Reverie smells incredible and I really like the feel as well. Almost perfect for a 2-pass shave.

I haven’t tried any Gentleman’s Nod soaps, but if this Juniper Reverie a/s splash is representative of the quality of their products, I will be a repeat customer for sure. Surprised I don’t see more love for GN around here…

Pre: Noxzema Classic Shave & Stirling Unscented Pre-Shave Bar
Razor: Karve Brass Overlander
Blade: Nacet (1)
Soap: RazoRock The Dead Sea
Brush: AP Shave Co 24mm G5C
Bowl: Timeless
Post-Shave: RazoRock The Dead Sea Splash & Zingari Sego Unscented Balm

Another excellent Overlander shave, 10/10. It's hard to screw up with this razor.

I've been running this exact setup for almost a week now, and really enjoy the easy morning routine that comes with not having to choose which soap, brush, etc, to use.
Tabac shaving cream, Yaqi England 20mm synthetic brush, Yaqi Mellon in zamak, FlyDear Super Platinum (3). I get a DFS+ finish with almost no irritation, and best of all, it is quick - less than 8 minutes from start to finish.
Face 2.9/3, Neck 2.9/3, Weepers, nicks and irritation 3/3, Zen 1/1.
This combo is delivering a 9.8/10 score consistently.

1) Italy: Brush Omega 10777 Boar.
2) Germany: Shaving Soap Wilkinson Sword Blue Tub.
3) USA: Razor Gillette NDC Gold Ball End Tech.
4) Russia: Razor Blade Perma-Sharp Super Stainless shave number four.
5) France: Alum Block Osma.
6) Poland: Aftershave Balm Nivea Men Sensitive Skin and Stubble Balm.
7) Spain: EDT Nautica Blue.

Thursday morning shave and all went reasonably well. No blood or redness but again some sting when I applied my Alum Block. I would rate this morning’s shave as an 8/10.

Razor: Rigarazor
Hone: Charnley Forest
Brush: Paladin
Soap: Moon Soaps Bixby
A/S: Proraso Red Splash

Another great Moon Soaps Bixby lather.

My first & therefore oldest Paladin made for a great face lathering experience with the Bixby.

The Rigarazor with a Charnley Forest edge is keen and easy to wield.

An exceptional shave. 10/10.
