Razor: Razorock GC.84
Blade: Derby Premium Black (3)
Brush: Razorock Cherrywood 506 Boar
Lather: L'Occitane Cade
Aftershave: Derby City Chop Shop Winter Reserve
Additional Care: Razorock Alumn / Every Man Jack Face Lotion
Rating: 9

3 pass shave and a little touch-up. DFS. Missed 1 spot or else would've been a BBS.
This was my first time using a Derby Premium Black with my Razorock GC.84. Have to say I'm very impressed with the performance. Got me a very smooth, comfortable, close shave with no irritation whatsoever.

Razor: RR GC JAWS / HD
Blade: Gillette Platinum (1)
Brush: Simpson Commodore X3
Lather: MdC Fougère

Result: 9/10
2 x XTG in opposite directions to DFS. Knocked a point off for a few annoying red bumps that won’t go away and loading with a drier brush which led to more work making the lather. Wetter brushes are a little messy but make lighting fast protective lather either loading from a tub or face-lathering shave sticks. Good shave day.

Seventh Straight Razor Shave

Razor: Ralf Aust 5/8”, African Blackwood Scales
Soap: Czech & Speake Oxford Cambridge
Brush: Simpson Chubby 1 Manchurian
Post shave: Thayers WH, Nivea Balm

A comfortable 3-pass shave. Looks smooth but can feel some patches of roughness. This seems to be a good soap for straight razors as it’s able to take a bit of water without falling apart.

The result a comfortable SAS without incident. For me that’s a 7.

My DE gives me better shaves but I enjoy learning the straight. It gives me comfort to know that if I ever get transported back in time to the Wild West I will be able to get myself ready for a night in the saloon!

Slightly OT, but I love that shot. Very dry/minimalistic or.....Wild-West-ish

Razor: Gillette Flair Tip (G-3 1986)
Blade: Israeli made Personna (3)
Brush: Yaqi R1730 Sagrada Familia
Soap: Van Der Hagen Scented Luxury Shave Soap
Aftershave: Pinaud Lilac Vegetal
Rate: 9

Two pass shave WTG, ATG & touch up. DFS+/BBS I just got the Yaqi brush and it is fantastic. WCS is going to get a lot more Yaqi money from me in the near future.

Soap PAA Solstice
Brush Yaqi 26mm Moka Express
Razor Gillette Tech
Blade Gillette Wilkinson Sword 2nd use

Omega Alum
Thayers Lemon

Face lather. Slowly add water and turns out to be a blooming creamy thick and slick lather.
Shave with razor and blade pairing was good. Not overly sharp but smooth. Good 3+1 pass of wtg, xtg/atg, atg and pickup atg. BBS 80% above jawline but below was just DFS. Rating 9/10 no weepers nor irritations.

Hmm. I wonder if it wouldn't be more productive to rate the performance of each item individually and take the average?

Fatip Piccolo. 6

The razor I want to love because of its styling, plating, and price...but am usually just "meh" on. This razor requires an angle on my face that is just too different from any other razor.

Nacet. 8

I rate this as a "premium" blade, regarding sharpness and smoothness. Alongside Polsilvers and Feathers. And I give it this rating based on performance in other razors, not the Piccolo.

Proraso "blue" cream. 7

I like green and red better, but I found 3 tubes of blue for under $6, so there you go. It's here, I'll use it.

Col. Conk's pre-shave oil. 8

Arbitrary rating. It works. I have it. My weakness here is in not having other pre-shaves to compare against it.

Alum block. 10

Nothing does alum's job better than alum, so it gets a 10. It is also the best after shower underarm deodorant ever devised.

Afta balm. 8

In price, performance, and availability...you can spend more, but not get too much better.

Barbasol aftershave. 6

Powerful. Pungent. Cheap. Long lasting. And a classical, decidedly NOT "metrosexual" product. The mobsters who disposed of Jimmy Hoffa's body were probably using Barbasol. An aftershave for men who carry pocket knives and save things in old cigar boxes. The stuff makes my eyes water.

Average: 7.57

Flintstone65

Imagining solutions for imaginary problems
Soap Wholly Kaw Entropy Man
Brush Yaqi 24mm Mew Brown knot in Purple Haze Handle
Razor British Gillette RFB New
Blade Kai, 3rd use
Post & Aftershave
Thayers Rose Witch Hazel

7 out of 10 -- Solid DFS with a single weeper after 3 Full Passes (no clean-up/touch-up). I think I prefer the Nacet over the Kai in this razor, and it was my first time using a Wholly Kaw soap. The soap scent was definitely not for me -- still trying to figure out what it was, didn't match any of the scent notes advertised -- but the shave itself and the post-shave feel was excellent.
