Razor: Razorock Lupo 72
Blade: Astra Superior Stainless (1)
Brush: Sea Glass / Nexus
Soap: Electric Pineapple
Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman

Good morning! Face lathered with the Sea Glass brush, nice, slick, cooling lather. Haven’t used an Astra SS in a while, so thought I’d give it a try. It performed well, but not as comfortable as the Nacet had been this past week. That said, I got a very close shave without any mishaps or irritation. Not bad at all. Finished with Clubman.

Blade: Chick, 4th shave
Brush: TGN 24mm Silvertip reknotted Ever Ready
Soap: Cella Bio
After shave: Thayer's WH, followed by Cella red A/S splash

DFS+ shave 9.5/10

There it is! I have no idea what I was doing wrong on the first three that caused weepers/nicks, but I decided to stick with this razor and was very present throughout the whole shave. Wonderfully comfortable glorious shave this morning. I'm getting the hang of the razor back, I guess, angle, pressure, etc. Superb.

P.S. I'm calling this the improved high school shave because this is the razor I first shaved with, but my high school shaves were either with Williams in a mug or Barbasol. Revisiting my first razor.

Since I finished off a tub of GFT Sandalwood Cream, I started to look through my supply of soaps and creams. I found a tube of Coates Sandalwood. I know I bought this a long time ago and use it when I traveled. However, I have no idea how many times I used it. The cream was somewhat dry but using my Paladin PK 47 brush that was wetter than usual, and that did an outstanding job. A nice BBS shave with the Wolfman and Lab. Have a good weekend.

Razor: GEM MMOC
Blade: GEM PTFE
Brush: B & B Shavemac Beagle Butterscotch Fan
Soap: PAA CaD
Post: Thayers WH Aloe
Aftershave: Aqua Velva Ice Blue

The Shave: WTG/ATG for a DFS shave. Great lather with CaD and Snoopy. An excellent brush, I’m so very glad I jumped on the opportunity to get one.
I can’t help it, I just love the way a GEM MicroMatic Open Comb shaves. I have other SE razors but for my face and technique the MMOC just flat out works.
Very nice shave, great results, zero irritation. 9.75/10.

Razor: Yaqi Excalibur V1- Mfg 2021- excellent tame mid range, nice to manipulate the face & light weight. Aluminum handle.
Blade: Kai Protouch(6)+ Chinese Blue brand(1) The Protouch seemed tuggy so changed out to the Blue brand. Protouch excellent blade, Blue brand are OK, Very sharp, but not a lot of longevity I'm finding. 50 mm blades that sit for some time will lose some sharpness! Gem PTFE rules for longevity IMO.
Soap: Gillette Pure cream, nice scent with great lather qualities at a great price.
Brush: Yaqi lucky dice 26mm tuxedo knot, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, excellent scrubber + great lather painter + great for folks with large hands that like a nice scrub IMO.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock American barber(nice scent with staying power)with witch hazel + a dollop of Nivea balm with HA.
Results: 9/10 or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = :a17: excellent shave with my Yaqi Excalibur V1 with a Blue blade.

Lupo.95,GWS(1),HSSC Green Door(new soap),Simpsons Chubby1 super,Thayers,Prorasso aftershave,Nivea sensitive,Prorasso green pre/post.Superb shave with the Lupo easy BBS no cuts,or weepers.I did feel a slight warm tingling using this new soap. Not sure what caused it but there was no irritation after the shave.Really like the scent so it will be a pity if it happens again because there's too many great soaps out there that don't tingle. It's a 8.5/10 today.Take care happy shaves everyone.

Rating: 10/10 Excellent 3 pass BBS shave with two touch ups. No weepers, cuts or irritation. Have been flipping the Feather blade. Usually only get 2 comfortable shaves if do not flip. Result: 10/10
Pre-Shave: Cold water splash - OPR Sandalwood shave soap (brushless, applied by hand, pump)
Soap: PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum regular CK formula
Brush: APShave Co. synthetic
Razor: RazoRock Lupo SS DC
Blade: Astra SS (1)
Post-Shave: Cold water splash - Stirling Bay Rum-scented Witch Hazel - Lucky Tiger face tonic
AS: Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum

Great shave! Regular PAA CK formula makes the cut...I actually find this also very slick...so CK or CK-6 work for me. Astra SS performed very well. Good to get the dual comb out and give it a drive.

No picture today...pressed for time.

Happy Shaves, Everyone!

Friday shave was quite good, two-pass, plus a lot of clean up, 9+/10, DFS, no issues, no irritation, and not much stubble:

Razors: Occam's OREN- two-dot head
Blade: Feather AC Pro (7)- blade is past its prime, so a new one tomorrow
Brush: Vulfix 376 in Super- surely nice enough, soft tips and a bit of extra loft; it made lovely lather for a good shave
Soap: Stirling Varen- slick and protective, a really nice lather from this very earthy scented soap, plus a good post-shave face feel; easy to see why it is a favorite of many
Post-shave: rinse, a splash of Pinaud Clubman Classic Vanilla AS for Friday

Have a great weekend, and today I won't forget my picture :001_rolle

A 36-hour beard today, and I ran into irritation for the first time in years!

Merkur Progress/Feather blade (4)

Proraso Green cream

AP Shave Co. synth brush

Stirling Bay Rum aftershave; a lotion called Citron with honey and coriander; Johnson baby powder

A quick face wash, then I applied the Proraso and face-lathered. The Feather blade has more uses on it than I usually ask of it, but it cut well, I thought. Pass 1, WTG with skin-stretching on the cheeks. (I'm beginning to think that stretching the cheek skin is unnecessary and risks irritation.) Pass 2, throat only, ATG; pass 3, really a cleanup pass, XTG. Settings on the Merkur: 5 to start, then 4, then 3.5. A setup I'd done before without trouble. Then I dabbed on the Stirling BR, then the Citron. As I was cleaning up the sink and the razor, my throat skin began to feel much too hot. And a glance in the mirror made me think I was strongly sunburned! I smoothed on some Citron from B & BW and a dose of baby powder, and the irritation faded and the redness, if it's still there, is now hard to see.

What'd I do? Too many shaves on the Feather? The Stirling BR? But my cheeks, which got the same treatments, were not irritated that I could tell. Perhaps I overshaved a bit on the throat with a blade that should have been retired, and then the alcohol and the Citron stuff (which I'd never used after shaving before) flamed up my throat?

No more shaves until Saturday or Sunday!

Verdict: 7.0!
My guess, the alcohol and the Citron.

Soap: Proraso Green
Razor: DE89
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
Brush: Beagle
Aftershave: Witch Hazel / Aqua Velva

Haven't used Proraso Green or my Edwin Jagger in AGES. The Silver Blues work extremely well for my face in the DE89, so good in fact that I did a rare ATG pass. Mostly BBS, but could have done a little better on the neck. Didn't want to push it. No cuts/irritation.

11/10 I'll have to break out this razor more often!
