What Camera Do You Use?

Awesome.

I've done a lot of reading and looking at YouTube reviews. I know the R5 would be worth it for me. I think I recently found a way to come up with the money in a year or so, depending. But at that point, will the R5 V2 be on the horizon? I'm sort of hoping that is the case.

I've had some health issues that have kept me sidelined a bit as it is. I'm working on those and making some headway. So, I have time. In the mean time... my IDX2 is no slouch.
Right on. yeah, a 1dx2 is definitely an awesome piece of kit! Hope you're able to feel better and that you can get out and shoot more soon!

I have a few cameras that I cycle through. One that gets used the most right now is the M4-P

I may be weird, but I really like the Canon EX-M platform.

I have EOS M200 and EOS M50 Mark II bodies and a bunch of lenses.… 55-200mm, 22mm pancake, Sigma 16mm and 30mm 1.4’s, 15-45mm, 7.5mm fisheye, etc.

I am a hoarder not only of shaving stuff but of cameras and lenses also.

Canon R5 (I regret a little bit of spending so much money on this with RF 28-70mm f2, 70-200 2.8, 24-105mm f4 and 50mm 1.8, besides some Sigma Art EF like 105mm 1.4 with adapter and still prefering Nikon pictures and interface).
Nikon Z6
Nikon D850
Nikon D750
D700 (four of them, one like new, less than 30 shutter count)
Nikon D4s
Nikon D3s (my favourite in terms of results, particularly portraits / skin tone)
Nikon D3
Nikon D2x
Nikon D7500
Nikon D7200
Nikon D90
Fujifilm XT3, XT30, XT20, XT10 and Xpro1

Also keep my dad's TLR Rolleiflex.

Just ordered a Canon R6 with RF24-105 kit
You won't regret. I hurried and picked up an R5 upon its release but I should have got a R6.

More than enough resolution for hobby activity, stupend ISO performance and quite less expensive.

Regardind RF 24-105mm f4 lens, it is superb, actually the only one most people will ever need. It blows away old EF 24-105.

I am excited for my little RF kit with the 24-105, 16/2.8, & 100-400

I am relatively new to the forum and didn't even know about the"darkroom" until just now.
I think I may be an odd one though.
I use a Pentax k3 body but pair it with lenses from the 70's and 80's.
There is no communication between the lens and camera so I enter the settings by pushing a button that allows the camera to meter. I use the center weighted exposure option since that fits my lenses. And it is what I'm accustomed to using from years back with the Olympus om1.
I also use exposure lock and depth of field to get my action shots since the lenses are manual focus.

My EF 24-105 is probably the least hmmmm dynamic? lens I own. I have a 100-400 V2, 70-200 V2 f2.8, 16-35 f4, 100L macro and a 50mm f1.8 which almost never gets used. We have a few other crop lenses for my wife's cameras.

But I agree... the 24-105 is lackluster. I have heard great things about the new RF lenses. As I said, I'll probably adopt the R/RF format in a couple years... I'm guessing 2024. I'm done buying shaving gear so now I'll be saving up for the new camera gear.

Nikon makes some great gear.... I don't think you can go wrong with any of the big three... Nikon, Canon or Sony. All three have exceptional gear at the moment.

I went last week to look for a new EF-S lens to use with my old Rebel XS and came home with a R7 and 18-150mm kit lens! Huge amount to learn when moving to the mirrorless but sure having fun with it. I also use my iPhone 13 and of course the XS.

Long time lurker 1st time poster here.

My main camera is a Pentax K-1
I've got a bunch of lenses that I use depending on the mood/target.

I also have a Pentax Q7
Olympus OM-D-EM5 mk ii
and a Canon 70D. I also have a 20D that's gathering dust in it's bag.

My wife still uses what used to be my 70D..... a very decent camera.

The owl photo I use for a profile photo was taken with a 60D with a 70-300L lens. Our youngest son now uses that lens.... great little lens.

Yesterday I broke out my Yashica 44a TLR for 127 day. The date was 7/12 or by European reckoning 12/7.

Kodak stopped making size 127 film back in the 90s so those who shoot that format have to cut down 120 roll film. Not something I do every day but fun to participate three times a year.

I also have a couple of digital slr's, Canons and a Canon G15.
Before with film, I used a Contax RTS2.

If I hadn't fallen in love with the large wading birds here in Florida, I would have a smaller set-up. As it is, I'm focal length limited. Most of my photographs are shot with a Canon 100-400mm 2.. a very nice lens but not one of their long, whites. When I'm out at the nature preserves here, I routinely see other photographers with 500mm, 600mm and even a few 800mm lenses in use, both Nikon and Canon... and now days, quite a few Sonys are out in the wild as well. I used to lust over those lenses.... now that I'm almost 69, I would have to use a tripod all the time... or start body building. ;)

All the major players in wildlife photography have really stepped up their game when it comes to their focusing systems. As was mentioned, the Canon R6 and R5 are amazing.... focus right on the eyes of animals, birds and humans. Composition becomes so easy..... add to that, their new 100-500mm lens is also a keeper.... but it all costs money... a whole lot more than I'm spending on wet shaving. ;)
Not sure where you are in Florida, but in St Augustine (NE coast) the alligator farm has a boardwalk that goes out into the swamp/river and it's all wild waders.
