What are your workhorse inks?

I was going over all the inks that I have. I would assume that I have about thirty or so different inks. When looking at them, there are only a few that actually have a dent in their supply.

Noodlers Bad Belted King Fisher
Noodlers Old Manhattan
Noodlers Ellis Island
Noodlers Starry Night
Noodlers Old Manhattan
Noodlers Liberty's Elysium
J. Herbin Perle Noire

I bought two bottles of Montbland Alfred Hitchcock Red today and a bottle of Pilot Iroshizuku Kon-Peki. Im not really sure why I did that, as I probably wont be using them anytime soon. The bottles are lovely display pieces though :)

My workhorse is what ever is in my converter at the time. At the moment though Lexington grey. I bought a sample because my name is Lex turns our I love it, its kind of lead pencil ish!!

I have two. Noodlers Forest green, which I use at home, and a violet colour I mixed myself, which I use in my carry pen.

At work I can't use a fountain pen (I have to hand my pen over to other people to sign things, and you would be amazed how many people cannot operate a fountain pen), so I use a heavy ball point pen with a Parker gel ink refill, which is about as close to the fountain pen writing feel as I've found in a roller ball.

You know, I usually carry a "people pen" and have my fountain pen as well. People have said, "you dont trust me with your pen?" I simply answer with a smile :)

I'm with you guys, I'm a prison officer and believe it or not most people in jail can't use fountain pens  so I carry a Lamy Safari roller ball as my 'Prison Pen' that I give to prisoners when they need to sign paper work I still don't let it out of my sight though...I also don't want to risk being stabbed in the neck with a fountain pen :a11::scared:
They used to match in charcoal black so it looked nice in my top pocked but now I have the limited edition apple green also.

Private Reserve American Blue.
Since i've discovered the joys of other colours, I wouldn't buy blue again, but the PR ink is very nice.

Oddly enough, I don't own many full bottles.
I have the PR, Quink (black), Montblanc Toffee Brown and 2 bottles each of the B&B inks

I always say I'm going to buy more, but I really don't need to.
I have a ton of samples from Gouletpens that I'm trying to go through.

My workhorse is Noddler's Midway Blue, I have it in two pens. It is a nice blue with some water fastness, and is very low maintenance. Really stands out when signing documents with other sigs in black.

My workhorse colors are the Noodlers specials for us: BBB and 5 O'Clock Shadow. Only bottles I have made anything close to a dent in!

Vintage Sheaffer Skrip is usually in several of my pens (black) - but lately I have been writing extensively late at night, and the bottle I keep at my writing desk is PR Lake Placid Blue. No particular reason; it's just the one that lives there. So I suppose I have made a dent in it, re-filling my Sheaffer Snorkel quite frequently.

ESSRI and Urkundentinte are probably my most used. Yeah, I am one of those boring blue/black kinda guys.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that. I am always looking for the next great blue/black ink as you can tell...

As a bureaucrat, I write alot and use fountain pens exclusively...my workhorse inks are Parker's Quink, I use blue and blue black, but have gone through three bottles of blue black in comparision to one of blue. As well, Noodlers Lexington Grey is always loaded into one of the Medium Preppy's I keep at work and is used for drafts and for phone log entrys.

Pilot/Namiki Black its my general no nonsense ink, the kids have come to dread it the way some dread red. A note in black doesn't mean they're in trouble but that there are expectation to be met and there is something about literally putting things in black and white.

R&K salix good for general writing and not as boring as many blue blacks good shading and retains enough blue. Love it in a 1.1 italic.

Noodler's Black Swan in English Roses just a fun ink without being too over the top for me.

Montblanc Midnight blue and sometimes Herbin Cacao du Bresil.

I just used the Herbin Cacoa du Bresil to pen a two page note yesterday. On Rhodia paper, i just wish for a tad more saturation.

Waterman Florida Blue. The only bottle that I ever emptied. Currently loaded in my Pelikan M400 and Sheaffer Targa. Completely reliable in all my pens and papers.

For everyday writing I use Scheaffer Skrip Blue. At work I also use a ball point. For more permanent I use Noodler's Bad Belted Kingfisher. I also have some Quink that will be used when I get my other pen back from repair.
