What's new

What are you unpacking/ opening today, show pics or video, we love pics

looks nice, is that the one you mentioned on the scuttle/mug recommendation thread?

hope you enjoy it mate :)

It is, if memory serves (which is a big ask lately ha ha) someone on that thread steered me to it.
It's very different from my Sculpta Ceramics one, so still learning how to use it best :)

Thanks, not sure if I'm enjoying it yet but it sure looks great! :)

Looks like some nice vintage razors that have hardly been used. Wilkinson Sword razor is a interesting looking razor, hope you have some nice shaves with it. Looks like it might be from the 1920's ish (1949 you mentioned, patent for Auto-strop must of expired)and similar to the Valet auto strop razors system of stropping. Have some great shaves with some great razors.

I was told this would arrive the day after leaving for a week's vacation, but it showed up early today!
My first Simpson and first Badger brush. I just had to see what all the fuss is about.

On first impression I thought it was even smaller than expected. I chose the Colonel X2L to be big enough to easily bowl lather if I wanted to continue doing that. I'm not crazy about the ergonomics of the tapered handle, but I'm going to learn how to hold this differently, I expect.

A Yaqi 26mm synthetic for comparison.

The bloom after a cleaning with a clarifying shampoo.

I am really excited about how soft the brush feels. I was worried it would seem stiff and prickly. Having done one test lather in my palm, it feels very soft with a hint of scrub available. A couple more test lathers and it will go into use. There is very little animal smell. The test lather I tried tonight was wonderful; it had a silkier quality than I am used to from my two synthetic brushes.

I wish I hadn't waited so long to try a badger! Hopefully the actual shave experience really seals the deal. Then I will get one or two more badgers to create a rotation.

a Percy Nobleman brush in "boar"🐗 don't know if it's just me but i don't think the print is straight🤔🤔🤔
I dunno if it's the angle the photo's been taken at, but the print looks a bit "right hand down" to me. That probably makes it worth more. :thumbup1:

Have you got to 365 brushes for your annual rotation yet Robert? :001_unsur
