I was intrigued by the look of the Rasiogoodfellas Syntesi; so, obviously, I had to purchase one (the Velvet).

The Postie handed it to me earlier today:

The washer (fitted in the handle top) made aligning the blade a real pain. I removed it and then checked that the blade was clamped properly... it was. So, goodbye stupid (IMO) washer.

I'll try it out this evening (and hopefully I'll like it ).

My very very First Scuttle in my Life !

Just got this lovely black ceramic shaving bowl from China - it's brilliant; it really retains the heat and will be great to warm my old arthritic hands as well as the lather.

Oh just found out; you can microwave it with the bung out; even better !

I've never had one before after shaving for 46 years ; so it's a revelation; now I'll want to shave even more !

One thing leads to another with this hobby so...

I had some heads that needed some handles; got them and when I rounded them up I didn't realise how many stragglers I had and the mini chest of drawers was full of shaving tackle so...

Got another case big enough for them all.

Also had to get another big leather dopp bag because I bought too many Oudy frags in January - now that's full - I just can't win !

I also need some big placky boxes for my cubic yard of soap upstairs because the original cardboard boxes have gone damp and weak.

I know they're only budget wonders but they'll do me - If I couldn't get results out of 'em I'd give up shaving and grow a beard like Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill out of ZZTop - I've already got the head hair so then at least I'd be warm in Winter and smell nice.

My PAA Ascension came with a bag of nylon and metal washers - never used 'em; don't need 'em.
Superfluous to requirements.

I'm doing Frankincense and separate Oud soap so got a silicone mould; just need a temperature gun to arrive and a few more bits and then I can crack on.

Got some Jo Malone bath oil because me and the Dragon love baths together - saves water etc lol !

Plus a few more Dopp bags to put my frags and razors in.

Then soon some more classic frags are coming plus a load of scents so I can do my own perfumes for the ladies and aftershaves for the lads etc.

Also an exclusive swanky Hotel fragrance is on it's way lol !

About twenty odd scents are coming - just what a smelly Caveman requires !

Mail call: Mühle STF 19mm knot. Very safely packed by @Rudy Vey

This is a drop-in replacement for a failing knot in an old brush. I am automatically skeptical of anything with the level of hype the STF has attained. My first impression based on dry testing is a painful one, due to the speed at which my jaw hit the floor. Can't wait to set and test this.

I've been trying to get hold of three Pereira ceramic dishes since early December, but they keep arriving cracked or even shattered. Imagine my surprise when the latest attempt arrived like this. I'm sure there was a bit of snark involved when he packaged it... but I'll take it!



On a side note, I think it's time to clean the hobby room a bit. And figure out what to do with all the salvaged Pereira soap in there.
