I confess I've always just abhored Styx. Recently (like last night) I heard this album and I am shocked at how great it is. Very Proggy, signing, guitar whallop, Keyboards (omg, sounds like Rick Wakeman). All sounds quite incredible
Ah yes Styx. They were actually the very first concert I ever went to. It was at the Oakland Coliseum in CA. They were touring Paradise Theatre in the early 80s but really I went to see them for their Grand Illusion album. I know it's easy to see them as the prog Spinal Tap but they really did make some good music. I can still see the plates on the hutch in my buddy's parents house shake as we blasted Come Sail Away on his dad's big Klipsch speakers
