Sad that Dr John and Leon Redbone died so close together. Both have been favorites for years. Their duet of Frosty has been mine & my wife's favorite Christmas song for many, many years.
Crickets, spring peepers, distant rolling thunder, nearby thunderclaps, rain, cicadas, wind, big waves, small waves, seagulls, dripping water, kite line hum, a guy scraping tunelessly with a bow on a cello, clocks ticking, clocks chiming the hour, hand pan music, kalimba music, penny whistle music.
I've been creating a soundscape for a play, with the help of Audacity and Linux Show Player (or "LiSP").
Talking of the big bands, this was my first jazz track on an old 78rpm. I was intoxicated with the exciting rhythm and the ensemble playing - it's a great arrangement. All this in a small town in South Wales. I later became a jazz musician for several years and still play. So this record was a big deal in my life!
