What are you drinking tonight?

Call me chicken but the right one looks at me in a very..mean manner.

Looks evil enough. How is it?
The sherry cask is quite prominent so expect it to be on the sweet side.
Bold and robust for NAS, when neat it is a punch in the face (and not only because of the ABV).
I watered it down (probably too much), it opened up and I got dried fruits, the sherry (logical), vanilla and a bit of pepper.

Please keep in mind that I am newbie at cask strength whiskies.
 
Do you use Maraschino liquor or the syrup from the cherries?
This was my first! I first heard of it earlier this week and decided I would mix it after my bike ride. I grabbed the Buffalo Trace and Luxardo maraschino liqueur, but my wife decided we were going out. So I showed the recipe to the bartender and told him I’d like BT bourbon. I didn’t see him mix it, but I’m fairly certain he used the liqueur. Having said that, I didn’t pick up the Luxardo in the drink as with every other drink I have had with it. I will make another this weekend. I have saved a lot of syrup from the cherries, and I will try it that way, too.
