What are you drinking tonight?

I had a final two to three finger pour of a bottle of Glenfiddich 15 earlier. On to a freshly cracked bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadail to help me settle down for bed.

Pomegranate and cane sugar in Grenadine?! What?!

Still looking forward to making my own.

You may have missed the season for fresh pomegranates. I have not seen any at Costco or Aldi, my usual sources, for a while. Quality bottled pomegranate juice seems to do okay.

My local whole tamarind sources seem to have dried up, too. On-line prices seem all over the place and all of them higher than the $4.99 lb I was paying at the local Safeway. I never did find any sour tamarind locally or figure out a reasonable way of separating out the seeds that did not seem to grind them them up some.

Sidecar made with Park Borderies Single Vineyard Cognac and Cointreau. Arguably a little overkill on the quality of the brandy for this drink, but it was really, really good, and all of the other ingredients were top notch. I went with a sugared rim for presentation. Jack and Jill glasses. Very 1920s speakeasy, I would say.
