The 16 is fabulous and always in my rotation! L16 is going to be a hard act to follow for JWB. L12 is lightning in a bottle, try it if you ever get the opportunity, it's the best single malt I've ever had, without question.

You were correct about the L16 sir!
Try this with the Lagavulin 12 as an experiment: pour a glass and cover the top. I use saran wrap. Then let rest for 20 min. More pronounced sherry for me.
I also have added water and let it rest. Opens up so much more on the nose and palate

Old-fashioned made with the melange of ryes from my infinity bottle and gomme syrup (gum arabic simple syrup) I made for the first time. The gomme adds a nice, silky touch and is new to me.
Margarita last evening on Margarita Day. Espolòn Reposado, Cointreau, lime juice, rocks, no salt (rare!).
