What's new

What are the "hot" blades these days?

I'm running low on my 100 pack of Astras and my 100 pack of Feathers. Since I'm in the market for some new blades, I'm curious what the blades are causing a buzz these days... any suggestions?

I'd say the Crystals (which are Personna, from what I understand, just under another name) have been menionnd a bit more lately.

Personally, I tried them last year and starting to lean towards them as my go-to blades as compared to other brands I have settled on (Shark and Astra) I just find that they are easier on my skin... but I just got new Astra Superior Platinum (the old ones I have are the plain Astra), so I still have to give those a go.

Some days I would seriously enjoy shaving multiple times just to play and test my blades out.. (and shaving is more like a treat compared to the hardship of when I used cartridges)

I love my Bolzano above any other blade still in production, However Gillette Blue silvers are a close second, and Gillette Super Platinum in the Black pack, and Souplex are tied for third. As far as a lower cost blade goes I like Perma sharp supers, you can get 100 for something like $20.

Everyone seems to have a different opinion, but Astra SP and Feather seem to get mentioned quite a bit here. Personally, my favourites so far are Astra SP and Shark SC. Get a sample pack and try some new blades. You might find a new one you love.

Astra SP, Feather and Med Prep Personnas seem to get the most love at B&B, and for good reason. However, mixing your blades up from time to time keeps things interesting, and is less expensive than experimenting with any of the other wet shaving variables.

Thanks guys! Seems I've been using what are still considered some of the best. I haven't been in the loop on the medical grade personnas though. I think I might pick some up based on some of the really good feedback I see around B&B. Always fun to try something new.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

Astra SP and Feathers are currently my #1 and #2 blades, hence my 'bulk' buys. I still try others by way of sampler packs and such, but feel most comfortable with these two.

I think that the 7 O'clock Black, Blue and yellow's are outstanding and in my top five. I have listed them in order of my preference but in truth, they are very close.

Regards,

Doug

I agree - the 7 O'clock blades are the best. My order of preference though is yellow, black and then blue. All three are great blades.
