It is the wrong base plate, it should be a old type. The cap may be correct, I can not tell. The piece in the first pic with the loop and dried glue should have a mirror on it.
The cap and handle look to be part of the set. The SN of the razor would be on the base plate (which is missing) so no way to tell what year it is but it would be between 1918 and 1919. It is a Gillette Old Type Khaki set.
Thanks for the help. It was the "base" which was giving me problems. Not a comb (WWI) and not a Tech (WWII). Probably not even a Gillette. Wish it could talk.
I looked at that exact set. I really liked the patina on it! It's what a WWII military field set should look like. Been through the trenches and wasn't a beauty queen.
