What's new

What a find!

No WTT in my sig? I'll have to reread the Hobbyist ruleset, as I was under the impression it was acceptable.

Thanks for the head's up on live auctions. I wasn't aware on that one.

No problem on the "live links"...don't think anyone was going to big on it anway, but who knows.

Maybe Vendor/Hobbiest are different, but I believe the Signature rule applies to all forum members as it was discussed in the General BST rules thread, maybe a MOD will chime in:

We are discussing this in the Mod Team right now.

As it stands, WTB's are ok in the signatures of otherwise BST eligible members.
Sales and trades are not authorized in sig lines.

Of course members ineligible to post in the BST are not authorized WTB's in their sigs.

This has been an "unwritten" guideline. We may address that in a future revision of the TOU/BST Guidelines.

If someone sees members who have unauthorized signatures (sales or trades, or members with less than 45 days and 50 posts with sales, trades or WTB) please report these to the Mod Team so that we can clean it up.

I would appreciate some mod advice here, as its part of my 100 character allowed hobbyist sig, in which I am allowed to advertise my wares, and my willingness to trade is vital at this stage of my straight razor experience. Maybe if I reworded it, it would be less "want to trade" and more "open to trade offers"

Might be tough to keep that under 100 characters, though.

Hobbyists and Vendors may advertise their business in their sig line.
If said Hobbyist or Vendor chooses to deal in razors instead of coin of the realm, that is his option as a businessman.
as long as said trades are for goods from his business, and not other personal objects.

EDIT: Good call on the eBay link though. From the Terms of Use (which everybody has read, right?);

6. To prevent abusive advertisement, no member shall direct other members, either through direct hotlink or indirectly through comments or other means, to any live e-Bay auctions or other auction sites.

Do not post URLs, item numbers, or seller IDs or any similar information unless that e-Bay sale is strictly a "buy it now" sale with no option available to place a bid, or is contained within an e-Bay storefront.

Members should also use good judgment in posting information that may reference specific active auctions, particularly if the extra attention drawn to it would be unwanted by other members who may be bidding.

Please feel free to discuss eBay auctions only after they are closed.

Thanks for the update Phil,

i was unaware of the trade ruling for hobbiest.

My appolgies to the OP for the confusion.

No worries Bruce. I was still in the wrong for posting a live auction, even if my intent was at humor (as it wasn't actually a shaving product).

Thanks for the clarification, Phil.
