I'm 30 and hear it well. Well, well from one ear, almost as well from the other.

I cant hear a damn thing, other than the static of my speakers. Im only 23, but assume I have some hearing loss from years and years of riding motorcycles. Is it possible my laptop speakers are unable to produce the sound? Im alone, but Ill ask others later.

Hmmm.... I doubt it's your speakers. Most will play ok at least at that range (mine do). I can hear it, btw, but that is no surprise since I am 27 and don't ride motorcylces. Actually, I discovered that I can also hear 17k and 18k, but not 19k.

You better be glad I wasn't drinking anything at the time, or you would be getting a monitor-cleaning bill!

The Sammy Hagar concert Saturday night didn't hurt my ears. I can hear that irritating sound.
