What's new

Went all in!

After the wife buzzing my head for the past several years (always seemed to miss a few spots if I did it myself). I decided to go down to the scalp. I'm two weeks in and it's great :w00t:. So after looking around, I decided to pick up a headblade. Haven't made it to town to grab one yet, but as I'm buying some chili fixins at the local grocery, what do I find but 4 sets of the blades in the clearance cart for $1.50. Of course, I bought em all. Can't wait to try out the apparatus as soon as I buy it!

I shave my head every Sunday morning with my Wahl clippers with no guard. I have considered going down even more. My wife bought me a Head Blade and cream for Christmas but I just can't bring myself to do it. Perhaps I'll try the Head Blade on my face one day........... probably not.

Is she giving you a subtle hint? :wink2:

I clipped my hair with a #1 guard. Almost bald....Haven't had the guts to break out the blade yet. But with my hairline...I see it in my future.

I've got a pair of Headblades (one for home and one in my travel kit). I've been using them for the past four years. It comes with two adapters; one for Atra type cartridges (which is also the same as their house brand blades), the other for Sensor type.

I find that, once you learn how to use it, is extremely efficient at shaving a Dome.

What I find the best about the Headblade company is their customer service. I've always been happy with online orders. In fact, I purchased their matte scalp moisturizer but received the glossy. I contacted them and they said keep the glossy, we'll send you the matte. 48 hours later, it was at my doorstep.

Trust me, if you become part of the Headblade Brotherhood, you'll never go back.

shave my head about 3 times a week. I bought one of those and used it for a while. I prefer using a regular razor. Most recently a DE razor.

Or was it a stubble hint?

I'm not to the point of head shaving yet, but will probably be there in a few years. What's the advantage of the headblade over a regular cartridge handle? (Or better yet, a DE?)

I shave my head a few times a year. I usually use a M3 or similar disposable razor when I do. I noticed some guys say they are using their DE razors. I guess I have been to afraid to do this, are there some pointers on technique that may be different than when shaving my face? I would like to use this method instead, since I do not like buying other modern razors.

So is it true that women really do love the bald Vin Diesel type?

Not that I am in that kind of shape..lol

Seriously though...I am about to go the chrome dome route. In this post alone I am hearing things like Matte and glossy....I REALLY DON'T WANT TO SHINE!!!

I never realized that headblade was just a holder to accept other cartridges. I always thought you had to buy their blades...Interesting.

So why don't we have a dedicated head shaving forum here?

I know I will be needing pointers. I will not tolerate this high forehead much longer.

Also...Obviously the first time out I am gonna be real white headed...Any tips or products to prevent sunburn and get a decent tan that will at least match my face?

I'm in the same boat. I clip my hair with a #1 once a week or so. SWMBO won't let me go all the way yet. (Wow, that sounds bad)

Just take the plunge, it's really not that bad and the head blade is easy to use. :thumbup1:

My personal take on it is that it uses a cartridge, and cartridges are more forgiving than a DE. There's nothing more painful than a scalp full of razor burn.

That said, there is also a efficiency with it that I like. The ergonomic "roller skate" design, once you get the hang of it, makes it very easy to get a smooth head shave.

If that is true, I'm missing something....
