Weird razors I have found. Post your own strange razor finds.

Tri-plex. When you absolutely, positively need to shave a Klingon.

Here’s my oddity. The King Oscillating Razor. The round thing on top rolls against the face causing the blade to oscillate back and forth. It uses a proprietary blade—but there are still some in the box so I used it (fearfully—because why would you want a blade going back and forth?). Anyway, the shave was terrible—but I still laugh thinking about that frightful shave and my fear of slicing up my face. And yes, there are still some blades in the case if I ever want to try it again.

How much pressure does it take to make the oscillator roll?

Honestly that thing is kind of terrifying.

A lot more pressure than I expected. The problem is soap or cream is intended to reduce friction, so the razor and soap have conflicting priorities.
Yep definitely terrifying. Lots of pressure, and an oscillating blade? That's a recipe for disaster imo.

another triangular razor is the maktor.

It must be an early prototype of a detailing razor

cornrazor. Loads of them around.

My contribution to this thread is a fairly well known one but still odd. This is the shake sharp V1 for those that don't know it, it's from the mid 1940s. It takes Standard double edge blades but only one side is visible at any given time. It has a hone built in that can be flicked in and out to help maintain a blade edge.

It's not quite as weird as some in this thread but it's still an odd razor. I have the v2 as well which is similar but full metal construction.

Looks cool

p.s brilliant thread

I might be slightly breaking the spirit of the thread by posting one I don't own, but dang if I don't feel as though the wolfman spider protos deserve some mention - if not just to attempt a 'beetlejuice' & have someone who won one this weekend post more angles when it arrives.

Also- I would watch a shave with the collins or that triplex in a heartbeat in entirety & be entertained the whole way (or at least properly tense) hah, hard to imagine the crazy technique you'd use with a circular blade. (might be able to get some kind of well-handled single-blade pass to clear all your lather, then do the reverse mirrored - though I don't expect it to be the most comfortable shave it would be damn impressive)

Another little folding travel set, this one a bit older than my previously posted one uses a wedge blade.
