We are all wrong!

I used electric shavers for years before switching to wet shaving. I tried rotary and foil and neither can come close to the shave I get with a DE. I shave every morning. I am not exaggerating when I say that I have a smoother face when I wake now (24 hours post shave) than I used to have when I got home from work (about 10 hours post shave). The results aren't even close. My first DE shave was an eye opening experience and I could never go back to electric. And to top it all off, I always had skin irritation at my collar line with electric which resolved completely with DE shaving. You could make a valid argument with regards to speed and convenience but not shave quality. The Sears web site has some very dishonest advertising.

 :001_huh:

They are saying the complete opposite of what we are preaching, great way to misinform people:glare:

You're making an incorrect comparison - an electric razor is no worse than hacking away at your face with an overpriced cartridge and canned foam (or nothing) protecting your skin.

It seems that my DE razors are incapable of shaving as close as my Braun electric shaver. Well, it's time I throw out all this useless DE crap and get out my German designed electric shaver. Thank you Sears for the update. For that matter, I'll just close my B&B account and simply log into Sears' website for more shaving tips.

Shave against the grain of your beard or hair growth. Ensure that you hold your shaver head at a 90-degree angle to the skin to achieve the best cutter coverage.
Shave the more sensitive areas of your face first since some shaver heads heat up.

Ow. Ow ow ow. Owowowowowowowowowowowowow.

I shaved with an electric abomination until college--seriously, I had to shave at least twice a day in ninth grade, and it hurt like all get-out to boot. Of course, I didn't know there were aftershaves for that, so I figured razorburn was just part of life.

You have to shave ATG with an electric...WTG, it just doesn't cut anything. And of course you can't prep at all, because the hair has to be dry and stiff to actually get into the rotor to get cut. One pass ATG + no prep + no lubrication + tons of pressure = ow.
