Good to know! I assume the guts of the brands you mentioned are better than a prejudiced American would expect from China?I like them okay. Well, I like the conservatively done ones. I own two now and I just use them as beaters. Probably won't buy another, as the stuff from most Chinese brands, like Steeldive or Heimdallr, is just head and shoulders above Invicta.

Citizen Eco-Drive. Not sure what model or reference number. It was my Dad's watch until two Mondays ago, when he died. Dad considered himself a man of business and the office, which dictated his watch preferences differently from mine. I was mainly a soldier in much of my adult life, so my watches tend to be divers, fields, or fliegers.
The capacitor was dead until I put it on a window sill this morning. Then she just started ticking away.
My sincere condolences to your loss.View attachment 1250947

Nice one. Reminiscent of my old 1655 Explorer II. Wear proudly and enjoy! (Your biggest challenge now will be deciding which one to wear.)New one @Benzadmiral rekindled my interest in Steinhart

Rolex will release a 36mm two tone Explorer later this year...It's dirty work, I know. But somebody's got to do it.
Just saw that (Rolex underwhelms super-fan CEO with 2021 watches - https://www.watchpro.com/rolex-underwhelms-super-fan-ceo-with-2021-watches/). A two-tone Explorer looks a little silly and dilutes the spirit of the model.Rolex will release a 36mm two tone Explorer later this year...
Sorry for your loss. A beatiful watch to remind you of a beautiful soul, I'm sure. May she continue ticking. I know when I purchased my Citizen, I was told the capacitor can be replaced. Not sure of the cost, but glad this one is still ticking away.Citizen Eco-Drive. Not sure what model or reference number. It was my Dad's watch until two Mondays ago, when he died. They already did it with the Sub, GMT, Yachtmaster, Sky Dweller, Daytona...Just saw that (Rolex underwhelms super-fan CEO with 2021 watches - https://www.watchpro.com/rolex-underwhelms-super-fan-ceo-with-2021-watches/). A two-tone Explorer looks a little silly and dilutes the spirit of the model.
Nothing succeeds like excess. They already did it with the Sub, GMT, Yachtmaster, Sky Dweller, Daytona...
Let's be a bit silly
If nobody buys it, we will have a super collectible like the Millgauss in a couple of years time.
I read the article he is more concerned about the size reduction than the materials. I always shied away from the 40mm Datejusts and Day Dates so 36mm for me is the bees knees and will fit nicely even under double cuffs.Nothing succeeds like excess.
Don't know how I didn't see this yesterday. Wow! Your Dad had good taste.View attachment 1250947
