Is that an old style, or is it new? Ever since I saw it I've been intrigued. I have to agree, the "cool" factor on that is off the chart.
I'm thinking "Steve McQueen, circa 1971".....
The Regulator style has been around for a while, not too sure how long. It refers to the separation of the hour & second hands to the subdials & having the minute hand at the prominent, central position. I think Hamilton's Cinema design, with "film reels" instead of regular hands is fairly new, maybe the last couple of years or so.
Hamilton makes several others Regulators with "normal" hands on the subdials. They are much easier to read, but lack that ultimate "Cool" factor of the Cinema.
Steve most surely would wear one. In a way, I'm glad he's not around to popularize it; it's nice having the coolest watch on the block. Almost like being the only kid on the block with a '63 Avanti.

Very poor image. The glass protecting my phone's primary camera lens is shattered, so I have to resort to the 'selfie cam".
Kind of a retro carry thing today. Watch is the Chinese Seagull airforce pilot chrono thingy...

This cheap Sekonda is about eight or nine years old now, and is probably on its third or fourth battery. It will soon be time for a new leather strap.
What I like is, despite being a chrono, it's still uncluttered and fairly easy to read... even with my wonky vision.

Again with the Regulator Cinema (never a boring watch). Keeping excellent time. About 7-8 seconds loss over 4(?) Days.
Can't ask for much better than that for a watch not certified as a chronometer. Well, I could, but that would be exceedingly picky of me.
