Just wondering if anybody has had negative experience with Watch Repair USA? I sent them a Sector Quartz to be repaired (it is pretty banged up) and they quoted $290 for an overhaul. Probably not worth it, but for the watch's sentimental value. However I have read some questionable comments about the company, but then again, if you deal with the public long enough, you'll always have a few complaints. My initial impression is that they seem to be a reliable outfit.

If they're going through and fixing everything then that's not out of the question price wise, actually it's one of the best quotes I've seen for watch repair around these parts. I'm not familiar with the company, but I think you're right in saying that any large company is going to have a few very vocal detractors.

I'm not familar with the company but as a point of reference, I just received my vintage 1959 Omega Seamaster from my watch guy. He refinished the case, serviced and regulated the movement, machined a new hairspring, replaced with new genuine crystal with the silver/white spacer for $275.

I would check with someone local before sending it to a big repair shop.

Agreed. Check references and make sure they don't outsource repairs to other watchmakers.

Yes, don't send your watch to anyone unless you are sure they do quality work.
