Watch question

Hello there all.

The thread on Casio watches being seen as "cheap" got me to looking around at what they offer. I have found that I like the looks of the Edifice 500 series that they offer, and the prices that I can get them for on the bay.
My question comes down to this. Are they worth it, or are there better watches for a comparable price? I will base this on the Edifice 550D-7AV (http://www.casio-intl.com/wat/edifice/edifice_chrono/ef-550d.html#550d) as a base line. I have seen this watch (or close variants) for $90 or less to me.

Thanks for any input :thumbup1:

In the $90 price range, you don't need our opinions. You are getting a watch that will keep excellent time (as will your cell phone), it won't be particularly durable, so the only variable is: do you like the way it looks. Only you know the answer to that. The majority of the reason folks get longwinded about watches, namely: do they impress other people, you aren't going to deal with, below a couple of thousand.

I have an EF503 that I picked up for $50 used in mint condition. Fantastic beater watch for work, or any time you need a chrono. Gets a surprising number of compliments from non-WIS (which would me almost all of my friends and coworkers). Influenced by the Speedmaster, but not an homage.

This is what I bought for my two daughters as a Christmas gift.

One thought it was the best present, the other hesitates over handing it back to the store to get a replacement, since it lacks clear markings of the hours.

Well, you simply can't please them all, can you?
